CHAPTER 37 RAT KING

The deeper they went, the number and strength of the purple-tailed poison rats increased.

Shadow even lost count on how many rats they killed.

They arrive at the centre of the valley. Shadow was shocked by what he saw: a huge purple-tailed poison rat. Unlike the ordinary purple-tailed poison rat, this one is huge and bigger than a bull. Its tail was dark purple, unlike the rest; its claws are also purple, and its body was also purplish.

Shadow hurriedly scans it.

Shadow then looks at the ocean of rats and suddenly has an idea.

Shadow then regrouped with Dargon and the others; he told them his plan to Dargon and the others; all of them nodded and sat there waiting for Shadws return while Shadow teleported back to his town.

He goes to the beach, and his plan is to use the thunder skill [Heavenly Calamity] to destroy the purple-tailed poison rat lair and anihilate the rats.

Shadow then calls for Thunder, is teleported back to the city, and immediately goes to the Purple Tailed Rats lair.

They arrive at the entrance of the valley.

"Okay everyone, the plan is to let Thunder unleash the [Heavenly Calamity] on the Purple Tailed Poison Rats, and with Thunder flying, the rats can't get to him. I want you to guard the entrance of this valley and kill all the Purple Tailed Poison Rats escaping."

Everyone nodded, then Shadow rode Thunder and entered deep into the lair.

When they got to where the Purple Poison Rat King was, they saw that it was eating. The rats were vomiting their food into their king's mouth.

Thunder let out a roar. His horn was shining, and dark clouds gathered above its head.

The Purple Poison Rat King senses danger and looks up to the sky. It sees Thunder flying above them. It bares its teeth and brandishes its claw towards Thunder.

Shadow just let out a mocking smile: 'You might be strong, but if you cannot reach, what can you do? '

After half an hour, the charging was complete. Thunder then unleashed [Heavenly Calamity]. Shadow immediately jumped into Thunder's claw and hid under his body.

Countless lightning bolts rain down from above and struck down

The Purple Poison Rat King lets out a roar. Its body is gleaming in purple light. It then unleashed a supreme innate skill: a mass of purple miasma came out of its body and was covering the whole valley.

The lightning bolts struck the miasma. It destroyed the miasma but still couldn't destroy the whole of it, but the attack did slow down the speed of the miasma spreading.

After an entire hour of barrage, the valley was ruined. Numerous rocks were destroyed, and there were many patches of burned spots on the ground. But the rats were okay; they were not harmed at all, except for the rats wandering outside their lair.

Shadow frowned. Thunder needed to rest an hour to recover. [Heavenly Calamity] is powerful, but it drains Thunder's energy. 'Hmmm, but the Purple Poison Rat King also used a supreme innate skill, so it was also vulnerable.

Shadow looks down and finds that it is so. He was excited with this; they have a chance to complete the mission, but looking at the tides of rats, Shadow hesitates, then grits his teeth and decides to risk it all.

Shadow then let Thunder land next to the others and told them what happened, as well as his plan.

Shadow then brought Dorothy, Wolfy, Dargon, Vixen, and Glutton; the others will be guarding the entrance together with Thunder.

They arrive at the lair. Shadow looks at Glutton and signals him to be ready. Glutton nodded. Both of them will be confronting the Purple Poison Rat King, and the others will be on a killing spree.

'Now' both Shadow and Glutton used [Advance Wind Dash] and charged directly to the Purple Poison Rat King.

The Purple Poison Rat King felt an incoming attack and whipped its tail at Shadow and Glutton.

Shadow and Glutton split off, with Shadow on the right and Glutton on the left. They charged at the Purple Poison Rat King again.

The rat king lets out a roar, and the tides of rats swarm towards Shadow and Glutton.

Dargon lets out a battle cry and charges towards the tides of rats. Vixen kept firing [Hell's Foxfire] continuously at the tide of rats. Dorothy also charges beside her, Wolfy.

Dargon met the tide of rats head-on, even though he kept brandishing his claw. The numbers of rats coming at him never decreased, but with his tough muscle and armour, the rats didn't gravely injure him, and with Vixen's support, the rats were getting massacred.

Dorothy and Wolf also kept killing the rats, but they didn't face them head-on with their agility; they killed the rats while running.

The situation between Shadow and Glutton is not great. With the swarm of rats, they can't get closer to the Purple Poison Rat King. This situation did not change for 10 minutes. The pressure they felt kept getting heavier and heavier until Glutton let out a howl. His body kept getting bigger and bigger until it was the size of a cow. He then let out a howl. Shadow was surprised by the change until the system notified him that Glutton evolved and now has a supreme innate skill.

Glutton told Shadow on their spirit contract to get away. Shadow nodded and yelled to the rest, "Everyone run away from here. Glutton will unleash its supreme innate skill."

The others were surprised, but they didn't dally any longer and started to flee. Shadow also used [Advance Wind Dash] to its fullest to get away from Glutton.

Glutton saw that Shadow and the others were far enough away and let out a howl. Its body kept shining silver light, then he let out a howl and used his newly acquired supreme innate skill [Hurricane Tempest]. Numerous hurricanes formed next to Glutton, and they kept getting bigger and more violent. All the rats on the lair were sucked by and shredded.

Shadow stabs Killer into the ground and grips it tightly. Vixen was locking on Wolfy using her tail; it was also locking onto Shadow while Dargon used his innate abilities [Beastification] and [Berserk]. He was using his body to shield Dorothy while holding onto a huge rock. His claws dug deep while both of his hands bulged greatly.
