Today is Sunday, and Dad needed to stop by the bakery for something. He asked me if I wanted to go with him, and I didn’t hesitate. There was something that drew me there, and it felt like a second home.
We arrived, and he unlocked the door. Then, following him into the bakery, he went into the back, searching for whatever item he needed.
/"Huh? It’s not here./" He stared at a table, rubbed his chin, and thought about it. /"Lex, check the pantry and see if I left the paperwork for Wilson’s cake order there./"
/"Okay./" I shrugged and opened the pantry door, only to get shoved inside with the door slammed shut behind me. I spun and started pounding on the door. /"Hey! Let me out!/"
As I pounded on the door, I didn’t know what was going on the other side of the door.
