Chapter 20: Be my left eye

Liza felt her head throbbing in pain, she wanted faint and wait this whole thing out but thanks to the Faint Resistance skill. Fainting was impossible, the more she tired the more she her resistance increased.

"FAINT RESISTANCE LV 3"

'Make it stop!!!!' Liza groaned in agony, before a certain Pop Up appeared and the pain of her head numbed a bit.

"WILLPOWER HAS BEEN INCREASED"

"GAIN SKILL MENTAL RESISTANCE LV 1"

'Mental resistance? Willpower increases? Oh right! Goblin Survivor has a high stats of willpower. The higher the willpower the higher my tolerance will be. This is awesome! Best decision in my whole Goblin Life!' Liza relaxed as she felt the mental resistance kicking in.

"Can you feel it now? The amazing power flowing right through you, it's wonderful isn't it?" The Mother Toad spoke, giving Liza a slight headache.

"This is s***..." Liza mumbled under her breath.

"What was that?" The Mother Toad stares at Liza in disbelief.

"Give me a break..." Liza mumbled again.

"What is this? You seem not pleased of your gift. Is there happened to be something wrong?" The Mother Toad croaks as she ponder over Liza unpleasant behavior.

"Something wrong? Something wrong?!"

"GAIN SKILL BOLDNESS LV 1"

"I'll tell you what's wrong! It's the fact that this so call reward is all bull****!" Liza spouted out.

The Mother Toad was silent before croaking angrily. "You dare..."

Before Liza could say anything in return, Liza was suddenly taken away by a pair of muscular arms. "Scarlett?"

"We have no time Master, the gate is already closing!" Scarlett yelled as Liza noticed the gates are open but they're slowly closing.

Before Scarlett can cross through the gate, a purple tongue wrapped around Scarlett's leg.

"Oh no!" Scarlett panicked as the purple tongue slides higher up her leg.

"Scarlett quick! Your sword!" Liza shouted before Scarlett brought out Aether and cut off the purple tongue.

In a blink of an eye, Scarlett and Liza made it out. But when they did, a cut slice through her right eye.

"AAAAAAAAAAAH!" Scarlett screamed as she tried to stop the bleeding.

"Scarlett! What happened?!" Liza teared up strips from her cloak and wrapped around Scarlett's head.

'I don't get. How did this happened to begin with? Was it the tongue? No. If anything, it was probably the sword.

Damn it! I should've thought more before telling Scarlett to use it without experience. In other words... it's my fault,' Liza felt hot tears dripping down her face.

"It's all my fault..." Liza muttered as she gazes at Scarlett's bloodied wound.

"Don't give me that," Scarlett cupped Liza's cheek and wipe away Liza's tears.

"Don't you dare give me that sorry excuse," Scarlett said to Liza with a strict tone.

"Master, I am not a child. I may be injured now, but that doesn't mean I'm dead. And as long I'm alive, I will always be able to heal and grow. To grow stronger so something like this won't happen to ever again.

You taught me that yourself, to not give in to despair. To not be afraid of fear, but to laugh at it straight in the face. So do not cry Master, I won't leave your side..." Scarlett paused as she bring Liza into her embrace.

"We are friends, right?" Scarlett whispered, while gently rubbing the top of Liza's head.

Liza continued to sob into Scarlett's embrace, holding on to her tightly. Until Scarlett suddenly began to glow.

By the used of Spiritual Healing the blood seeping through out of Scarlett's bandage soon invigorated, the bandage slipped off to reveal a small scar on Scarlett's right eye.

"See Master, it's already healing," Scarlett spoke as she lifted Liza's face.

"I need you Master... so please don't cry," Scarlett once again gently rubbed the top of Liza's head.

Liza then wiped away her tears as she finally stood back up on her feet. "Thank you.... I had no idea what I was thinking. Of course you need me, you'll be hopeless without me,"

Scarlett smiled as she sees her master's become his usual self once again.

"I'm Master's student, your friend and your left eye," Scarlett giggled to herself.

"Left eye..? Oh! Hahahaha!" Liza started laughing, realizing Scarlett's joke.

"Yeah, I guess I'll be your right eye!" Liza remarked and Scarlett laughed.

Scarlett noticed something strange. "Master? Where's did the tongue go? It's gone!"

"Huh? The tongue? I think I ate it?" Liza said unsure.

"You think, Master?" Scarlett titled her head with a worried expression on her face.

"Yes, I probably ate it over the stress," Liza said bluntly.

"So what happens now? Since you ate it, is there any changes?" Scarlett asked.

"Now you mention it, I do feel a weird all over my body," Liza said, then a Pop Up appeared.

"YOU HAVE NOW THE MOTHER TOAD SKILLS"

'Talking about timing...'

'Wait a minute! Did you say 'Mother's Calling'? What the hell does that do?'

"GAIN FROG LEGS"

"GAIN BODY TOXICITY"

Liza's skin turned purple. Her tongue grew long, much longer than in her Salamander Mode. Liza's eye turned red like the Mother Toad.
