Chapter 10

Her mothers hand grips hers tightly she pulls Amanda back into the room and gives her a thight but quick hug, her mother's perfume wrapping around her along with the warm embrace.

"I'm sorry we didn't leave sooner, you guys go and stay safe please and know your father and I love you three so much. Take care of yourself and the twins." With that her mom kisses her cheek and slips something into her pocket then pushes her out the door and slams the door shut before they could go back inside. Amanda grabs the door handle and shakes it violently, while the twins bang on the door but the door refuses to budge they finally give up and fall to the floor huddling together.

After a few moments Amanda has to pull herself together and pull the twins along behind her as they make their way back to the car once in the car she looks inside her pocket to see what their mother gave her and what she found made her cry more. It was her mothers wedding ring, her wallet, and the car keys. She looks down to find her phone and her parents address book in the car beeside the driver's seat, she picks up her phone and the address book and calls Linda after two rings Linda answers with a cheerful voice.

"Hello Miss Amanda! How are you?"Linda says in a singsong voice, Amanda could hear pots and pans ringing in the background which indicates she was possibly making dinner.

"Hey Linda, would you and scott mind if the twins and I come stay with you guys for a little while?" She asks her voice cracking a little with raw emotions coming up, she feels the tears threatening to spill over but she quickly blinks them away.

"Yeah sure that's fine, what about your parents?"Linda asks, concern in her voice.

"I will explain everything to you when we get there, we should be there in about 2 hours." Amanda says looking at the gps her parents set up in the car.

With that they drove two hours to Linda and Scott's home in Newberry, Linda and Scott are their parents best friends and their god parents. Once they arrived to Linda's home she opened the door with a warm welcome, once they were fed and given new clothes they sat down and explained to Linda and Scott what had happened or more so told them someone hurt their parents and their parents disappear and they weren't allowed to contact authorities. With that they were able to stay with Linda and Scott comfortably until they figured out what to do afterwards, every now and then Amanda's mind would drift off to that house, that night, and even the girl in the mirror. Was Yvonne Autry really her name or was she really Clarice Autry? The question still remains unanswered and until she finds the answers and finds out just what exactly happened to her parents she will investigate the whole matter....
