Wait… if I decided to change my past decisions that I regretted. If I hadn't created some distance with my sister, then she wouldn't have committed suicide. That was the formula that would have given me happiness in this scenario.
Hell, this whole thing could have been avoided if we had seemed comfortable with each other. But do I want to change this? Do I want to change the past? The answer was obviously Yes. Even now, I still hold some regret, though it isn't anything too special on the matter.
…
Alex contemplated these thoughts as his sister smiled and came next to him. "Andrew, let's go."
He sighed and looked at her. "Sorry, but if I change this event then it would be the same as admitting to changing myself. That isn't something I am willing to do. There are very few things I truly feared. But changing my whole being is probably the worst of my fears."
She nodded. "You were always like this."
"Sorry, I am only human after all," Alex said as a rope appeared in his hand and he tied it up into a knot and around his sister's neck. "Though I have always felt like I killed you with my own hands at that moment."
"I forgive you." She said with a sad smile.
Alex's face showed no emotion even then. "Yeah, you aren't the real thing. So stop saying things like this. Even if she did forgive me, it's too late now… because I no longer care for her forgiveness."
…
Just like that, Alex opened his eyes to the real world and continued his work as if nothing had happened. The invisible Hell's Creature looked at him for a brief second but didn't say anything.
Alex then looked up and immediately teleported above the now rebuilt Sword Mountain. "From today onwards, this will be the Soul Sect headquarters."
He then smiled as he saw a small carriage being dragged by lizards come to the lower part of the mountain where his Sect Gate stood.
Alex then flew towards the gates and they opened, welcoming the visitors to come in. He smiled when he saw the royal flag flying atop one of the carriages. "Welcome, Ya Fei, so you decided to accept my offer, right?"
He could see the Wayne Kingdom's 3rd princess came out. Her blonde hair and blue eyes shining in the light, she wore a red dress that showed her figure.
Ya Fei looked up at Alex just standing in the air, looking down at her with a smirk. This was clear of their positions, because even though he was younger than her and she was a princess. As a Legendary Rank who reached the position at such a young age, Alex didn't have to bow down to anyone or even show respect.
This whole decision of floating above was a clear message to Ya Fei that during their deal, Alex would have the upper hand. So there would be no use to lie and treat him like a normal ten-year-old.
Ya Fei would never stoop low like this, especially since she was a princess. But she had no choice, as she had people to protect too.
A small figure came out of the carriage, a young boy of around five years old with dirty blond hair that seemed almost brown and dull blue eyes. He was Ya Xiao, the 7th Prince of the Wayne Kingdom, and the son of a maid that the King picked up as a passing fancy. His mother was already dead, drinking poison meant for the young man.
Ya Fei and Ya Xiao were only half-siblings, but Ya Fei had decided to protect the younger sibling of hers who had no real backup. They were both in the same kind of situation since Ya Fei had an older brother who had the same mother and father. Her mother's clan had decided to support him since he had a higher chance to win the throne.
Winning the throne is a competition in the Wayne Kingdom. It was a death game, and powerful Sects would usually do all they could to put their puppet King on the throne.
"Sir Alex, it's an honor to meet you," Ya Fei bowed slightly to show respect to Alex.
"Let's go and discuss our terms. I will have Ain take care of your guards and brother." Said Alex, having a Homunculus female with white hair and red eyes come out of the ground.
"Follow me." Robotically said Ain.
Ya Fei on the other hand was surrounded by purple Mana and teleported away, together with Alex.
…
The next time Ya Fei opened her eyes she was sitting on a luxurious chair with Alex sitting opposite her. The table in front of them was filled with all kinds of luxurious foods.
In the corners of the room, there were red eyes, silver-haired maids. They stood still like statues, and each of them was considered a beauty. But Ya Fei felt like they were somehow false.
"You like them?" Asked Alex as he saw her staring. "They are my cute Homunculus. I made them myself, they do mostly menial tasks around the Soul Sect. The Earth Golems looked too crude to deal with people. Initially, the plan was to also have the Homunculus have emotions too, but the chemical reactions would take too long to program in them. Also after the third rage animalistic Homunculus, I decided against it for some time."
Ya Fei only smiled politely, not knowing what to say.
'He is playing God.' Thought Ya Fei as she saw him look at the Homunculus like they were tools.
"Young miss, want some tea?" One of the homunculi suddenly came behind her, shocking Ya Fei.
"H -Huh?!... Yeah, thanks." She answered hurriedly. Being uncomfortable. Ya Fei thought that she had at least her beauty that she could use against Alex. But seeing these artificial humans, she couldn't help but feel a little imperfect in front of them.
They were handmade, there were no imperfections in them. Their lips didn't need lipstick, their skin was the perfect shade with no blemishes or anything. That was the perfect kind of human, something that would be impossible naturally.
Alex on the other hand only observed the girl in front of him. She was nine years older than his physical body, but the way she acted, trying to appear calm and sophisticated amused him.
But that fun ended as he decided to talk about serious matters. "Ya Fei, I will give you a suggestion."
She came out of her stupor and insecurity about her appearance as Alex looked at her pointedly. "Okay, I don't want a lot, as long as you guarantee the safety of myself and my brother. Then I will agree to your terms."
"Hmmm… that seems reasonable. But first, I will tell you what I want, then you can agree or negotiate with me." Said Alex, not mentioning that only agree and negotiate were options. Because if she refused… well, he would give her a deal she couldn't refuse. "Anyway, the most important thing is that I want your hand in marriage."
'I already expected this.' thought Ya Fei, she didn't blush. "I understand."
"Good," Alex nodded, thankful that she was agreeable with this. After all, he planned to become the King of the Wayne Kingdom. And he had the key to that door in front of him, a girl so desperate that she would accept whatever terms he came up with. "Also your little brother, Ya Xiao will also marry one of our children."
Ya Fei was a little hesitant to agree on this, after all, she wanted her little brother to have free will to decide on these matters. But she had seen how Alex took care of the Lightning Sage. He wasn't someone you would want on your bad side.
Alex nodded once he saw her silent agreement. 'In this world, every Royal Family is inbred like hell. Still, though, this body of mine won't be able to bear children, no matter how many times we will try. At least I don't need condoms now. Also, the body won't live past 20 years old, but that should be easily fixable.'
"Okay, then I hope that we can grow to love each other." Said Alex, not caring about whether he grew to love her or not. All that mattered was a reason to ascend to the throne, so he doesn't have to slaughter the other Sects for saying that he didn't have the birthright for the throne.
Suddenly another Homunculus Maid came in and calmly stated, "Sir, a childhood friend of the Princess has come here to challenge you for Ya Fei's hand in marriage."
=================
A/N: Alex won't be soft on Ya Fei just because she is a pretty girl. He will treat her equally as he treats everyone, depending on how useful she was. If she steps out of line, he will kill her without even blinking an eye in hesitation.
