Chapter 56: Truth?

Gultuk was a berserker warrior who had reached Legendary Rank at the age of fifty, that was twenty years ago. Still, even though all of his peers said that his chances of advancing beyond the initial 1 star Legendary Rank. But he didn't give up hope and always wandered around the lands of the North, looking for a way to break through that fate of his.

Unlike the Headmistress who was a 10-star peak Legendary Rank, Gultuk wasn't anything special in front of someone like her.

And at the same time, he was currently covered in blood, with injuries around his body of different degrees. Alex had injured him quite a bit with his giant ice spike assault, especially since he was taken by surprise.

Anyone who heard of this amongst his circle of warriors would laugh at him, he is getting beaten by a kid who is only at Rank 3. Of course, he knew that it wasn't Alex who could beat him, it's the wand in his hand.

Gultuk frowned, the environment strengthened ice spells, after all, the cold and snow would be any ice mage's perfect territory to fight. But the wand was made from a God, it made Alex's spells power up as if they were used by a Legendary Mage.

The best decision right now would be for him to run away and Gultuk knew that.

'Running away?!! I am not some coward!! I didn't get here by running away from enemies!' Gultuk resolved himself. He was a Berserker Warrior of the North, he would never run away from enemies, even when they were greater than him, he would always come out on top and survive.

So he dashed towards Alex at full speed, planning on taking out the young man in one hit. He knew that if it landed, one hit would be enough to kill the young mage.

But suddenly, his Achilles tendons were cut as Lily in an instant was standing on his back and her cold dark eyes looked at him with a little anger in them.

"You can die now." She said hatefully before jumping back, leaving the rest to Alex.

Gultuk winced at this and fell on his knees momentarily, but that was enough as Alex had his wand pointed at him. "Thank you for this."

The warrior was confused at Alex's thanks before he was engulfed in white light and his head shattered into a million dust particles of ice.

[You have gained 123,267 Exp]

This was what Alex was thankful for, he had regained the Exp that he had lost. Normally this situation would be disastrous to him, but he had Lily and this new wand. Plus their bodies both had high cold resistance, at the godly level, it was as if they were the Avatars of the Goddess of Ice, that was how high their cold resistance was now.

The battle was in his favor from the beginning, but even then, if he didn't have Lily with him then he wouldn't have been able to get out of this with no injuries.

"What do we do now?" Asked Lily, using her knives to carve up the dead warrior's body. While gruesome, its organs could be used in certain rituals, and Blood Mages excelled in that. The main reason why Alex chose this class was that it could dampen the weakness of Mages when they were in close combat.

"Well, we go and meet a certain cute vampire lady named Camilla," Alex informed her while smirking.

Lily winced. "...Isn't that someone who is considered The Headmistress' rival or something along those lines."

He nodded. "Yep, she is just as dangerous and sometimes even more so than our dear Headmistress."

"Is that a good idea?" Lily inquired worryingly, she was now better versed in the world so she knew just how dangerous people could be at that stage.

Alex's smirk widened. "Don't worry, unlike Julie (the Headmistress), Camilla is easier to handle… and I never said that we have to go and charge at her head-on."

This made her curious at what he meant by that.

..

..

Fifteen days later on an island far west of the Human Continent, just on the border of the civilized world and Lands of Beasts.

The island was covered by a cloud so dark as if it was made out of shadows, and it made the island feel like it was always covered in eternal night. The place had many names, the Land of Death, the Island of Shadows, but there was one thing that was had been a fact for all human recorded history, this place had always belonged to the Camilla and was heaven for Vampires, Necromancers, and other Undead.

The island was barren of almost any plant life and the soil itself was darkened due to the abundant amount of Dark Magic that is used here.

There were gothic buildings all around, mostly secluded from one another, showing just how individual every one of the inhabitants was. They didn't even bother to put the illusion of unity that the Magic Academy had.

But in the middle of an island, there was a giant castle covered in darkness. All of this would creep out anyone who dared set foot here.

The castle itself, while majestic, only had a little over a dozen occupants, and in the throne room, which was lavishly decorated with gold and diamonds all around, in a throne made of pure gold, a little girl with blond hair sat on it.

She was leaning on her arm and sleeping peacefully, that was until she suddenly opened her eyes, which were red with cat-like slits.

She looked around in a bored manner, this little girl was the most fearsome vampire to ever exist, Camilla Bloodfallen. Her appearance would deceive many, but she is over two thousand years old, in her eyes even someone like Headmistress Julie was just a kid.

"You can teleport here if you want. Stop trying to ring the doorbell." She said suddenly, seemingly to no one.

Fwosh!

That was when a purple magic circle appeared in the middle of the room and out of it came Alex, he was wearing a red robe with its hood pulled up, having the shadows hide his face. Lily also was next to him, she mirrored his clothing except that she wore a black cloak.

Camilla immediately was able to discern both of their physical ages. "Peak of Rank 3 at 6 and 7 years old? Well, that is good… though not that good."

"Well, we aren't all talented enough to reach Legendary Rank by the age of 6 and already reach the peak at the age of 10. Miss Camilla, sometimes your standards are too high." Alex smirked.

"So what? Should I just respect people with lower talent? Just to be polite? Sorry little boy, but being polite to you wouldn't benefit me in any way. Maybe when you reach Legendary Rank, you could come here and become nourishment for me to increase my power." She said casually, not as a suggestion, but more as a fact.

Camilla Bloodfallen, though almost no one knew her real origins, she was the kind of woman that was even older than recorded history itself. But Alex knew just how terrifyingly talented the little girl in front of him used to be, she had no Gamer Interface like him, but was still able to surpass his growth. This world had too many strange things, so one can't be too surprised about them.

"Does Planet Earth, Telephone, Internet, mean anything to you?" Asked Alex, this time confusing even Lily.

"Yeah, if you asked me 2000 years ago I would be surprised." Added Camilla, "But by now I have met many people like you. Transmigration or Transferred to Another World, they all died very young. Rarely do they see past twenty years old, especially the ones who are given 'cheat' abilities by gods, they get to Legendary Rank very fast, but then die like bugs."

Alex smiled, but on the inside, he was wondering. 'Just how bored is she? I ask one question and she gives me an Essay-like answer. I know that she doesn't have anything better to do, but c'mon…'

"Aren't you one of them too?" Alex inquired with a mischievous smile.

"Yep," Camilla admitted shamelessly, "Though by now I have long since forgotten the life of a simple saleswoman."

He didn't comment on that, because he knew that she remembers her memories of Earth fondly and even had a replica of games, manga, and many other things in her Mind Palace, created by her imagination. This is what she does while 'sleeping' ; it's just playing games and reading manga.

"Still," Camilla's eyes narrowed, "You didn't come all this way just to tell me that did you? Because I will have to kill you right now, I am quite bored and would like to absorb your memories of Earth."

"Nah, not today. Maybe some other day I would like a loli girl nibbling on my neck."

"...careful what words you use boy, I might just decide to cut your neck."

"Sorry about that, I was just curious about something." Alex waved it off before pulling out a red dagger that he had found at the Blood Sect hideout in Gungai City.

Camellia looked at the dagger and shrugged, "Something I made before reaching Legendary Rank. Anyway, with this, I won't decide to chase you all around the world little boy. Also…"

Fwish!

A spear made out of blood came out of the ground and pierced Lily… her body dissolved into blood.

"Next time, both of you come and meet me in person." Camilla said to them, before looking at Alex straight in the eyes, "Any last words you want to say to me?"

Alex's Blood Avatar smiled, "Headmistress Julie is a half-demon."

That, for the first time in hundreds of years, made Camilla stop in her tracks and smile maliciously. "Hehehehe~" her happy childish laugh rang through the whole island.

=================

A/N: Yes Camilla was someone who came from Earth, though not from the one the MC came from. Since on her Earth this world wasn't a game before she was reborn here.

Also her history will be explained along the story, also unlike the Headmistress, Camilla is more straightforward, no longer bothering with hidden manoeuvres or anything like it.
