The point without turn

Diana woke up and saw that she was already in her bedroom, and right next to it was her brother sleeping with his face at the top of her hand, kneeling on the ground.

"What happened? I was in the... ouch!" a pain in her head interrupted her thoughts, so she decided to sit down, carefully not to wake up her brother" How did I get here?"

"I am happy that you are up." a man said walking through the opened door "May I ask why did you take off the ring, darling?"

"Father?!" she squealed "What are you doing here? And the overseas job?"

"I had to come back. Where is your ring?"

Knowing that her mother must have told him everything, she only crossed her arms, waking her brother up, and looked away.

"Why do you ask? I am not forced to wear that weird stuff."

"That weird stuff was protecting you. Do you know the danger you are in?"

Peter was about to talk, but the man looked over at him and the boy just got up with his arms up, in surrender, and got out of the room, but not before talking with Diana.

"I am happy that you are up!"

"You are lucky that your mother found you. What would happen if you went with that boy."

"I am still debating about that! And you need to know that he did not want to take me, we just had some drinks at the coffee."

"Just listen to your father! The Greenwood family is dangerous, you were lucky to meet Chad or you wouldn't be here."

Diana looked over at her father annoyed and laid back down without saying anything else.

"Do you think I am joking? This is a serious matter."

Once he finished talking, Diana finally snapped and sat down again, looking into the eyes of her father.

"Maybe if everyone explained why you all are so protective of me, I would follow the rules. But no... the only you all say is that it is for my best and everything will be fine..."

"Be quiet!" the man ordered with a yell "Even if you don't know, you should trust your family."

"We should have this talk another day, Edwin!" Lexie requested, going inside and giving a cup of water to Diana "Once she is better..."

"As long she doesn't have the ring, we cannot wait."

"Edwin! Just give her some time, maybe... maybe is better if we tell her."

"No! It's out of the question. She will follow our rules whether she wants it or not."

Diana drank some water, before giving it back to her mother and lay down again, starting to cry silently. Once they were out of the room, Diana sat down and cleaned her eyes with the pajama sleeve and looked for her clothes, but they were nowhere to be found.

"Forget it!" Peter said leaning on the doorway "They threw away the paper."

"I do not understand! Why they are like that to me, is it because I am the oldest?"

"Of course not, it is just hard to explain, I am sure that Chad will help you."

"Chad?! But they said that..."

"Actually, that boy is not dangerous at all. He will help you I am sure."

"How sure you are?"

Peter smiled and walked away without telling her silently, making her confused, but then she remembered the talk with Chad, so she decided to trust him and got up.

"If I am quick, no one will notice. I just want answers, I will be back shortly."

She closed the door and went towards the windows when she heard weird sounds coming from outside as Diana put her head out to check, Chad was levitating to her window, catching her by surprise, and before she could scream, he covered her mouth and got inside, making the wings disappear.

"Why...? How...? What are you doing here?"

"Did they tell you?" he asked, checking the door to see if there was someone walking by "By the way... I just came to check you in and give you this."

"I do not want that ring!"

"Even if you don't, you should always have it near you."

"Whatever!" she replied and took the ring "Now what are you doing here? I am sure that it was not only to check if I am alright!"

"Yeah...! I wanted to ask "he started to scratch the back of his head without looking her in the eyes "If you want to come to my house."

"We just met!" she said, astonished "Why did you think I would go there?"

He did not answer and she got angry, but then she remembered what she was planning to do and got quiet, embarrassed.

"Very well! I will go with you, but I can not take long!"

"No problem." he said, smiling and grabbing her hand "Hold on tight!"

"Wait, do not tell me that..." before she could answer, Chad hugged her tight and opened his wings, flying out of the window. "I am scared."

"Don't be, one day you may need to fly."

Diana was amazed, but as she felt the wind pass by her face she squeezed him tightly, and then she heard his quick heart bits and calmed down, it must have been because he was flying but maybe it wasn't.

As they arrived at the center of that city, he glided to the ground and landed right in front of a small store.

"I want you to meet my mom, Ashley, she is really nice."

"She works here?"

"Yeah, she is the owner."

Diana looked around surprised, but then Chad stopped, making her look the same way as him, it was a boy around their age, walking out from the back of the store.

"What are you doing here?" Chad asked, hiding Diana behind him "How did you find us?"

"You know... for someone from the Atheau, you are not very smart, are you?

Diana looked at Chad, curious. Where is Atheau? She never heard of it.

"Go away, David!"

"With pleasure!" he said while walking out, winking at her. "We will meet again, your Highness."
