Elvis snapped out of his thoughts and stared blankly at his mother.
"What did you say, mom?"
"You guys need to get back to class, so you don't miss out on so much, I can see your teacher by the door, I guess she is waiting for you." Kathleen said as she drew them in for a hug.
"Bye, mummy," the children chorused.
"We will see you at home, mummy," Elvis added as they were leaving with Ms Richards, their class teacher.
"Definitely," Kathleen smiled as she watched until their two little backs disappeared from sight.
"Thanks so much Ma'am for allowing me to see them at such short notice," Kathleen said to the head teacher.
"It's okay. I understand your desire to see them after being away for a few days," the head teacher said with a smile. "It was a pleasant surprise for the kids I must say and it shows your concern as a loving parent."
