'Richard has gone to take care of his sick father. He shall not honor my request at this time. Ansley, you must give us time to gather two thousand gold coins.'
Ansley understood her perfectly. He too knew how ridiculous it sounded for a man to provide such an amount of money.
But alas, he had run out of options. It was either he used his influence on Richard and Gina or faced death.
'I do not have any time to give you. I have told you my request and you must grant it. I must be on my way at this time. I shall see you soon.' He said but did not move.
'Ansley, my father has refused to give me to you as a wife. You must not come here in search of me anymore, my uncle shall not have it.' Gina too did not walk away.
They both stood there for the same reason. Fear. Ansley was scared that his end was surely going to come with the way Gina had replied to him.
