0012 - Time moves on

[A/N: I would have had this chapter out yesterday but was suddenly called into work]

[A/N: Also, as always, please give suggestions for Monster evolutions and overall suggestions such as skills, monster types, and more! Thank you ahead of time!]

Eventually, after an hour passed and the Delver team essentially cleared out most of the slime faction territory of slimes, the group of Delvers automatically assumed that the boy who entered the Dungeon before them was already dead, which was true.

I also found something that surprised me after an hour passed with the Delvers inside my Dungeon.

[ Five Tier-Zero individuals were inside the Dungeon for an hour, +5 EXP ]

[ 13/100 Exp ]

It was a passive way I could earn exp. It also gave me an idea for future floors to prolong people's time in my Dungeon.

When the group of Dungeon Delvers left my Dungeon, I used my right as the Dungeon to close the gateway for an hour and used that hour to respawn all of the dead slimes.

Then when the hour ended, I was somewhat surprised that yet another group had entered my Dungeon.

Although I did notice however that one of the men from the last group, the Priest, was guiding this group through the Dungeon.

By sheer luck, the portal stopped within the Slime territory once again, leading to yet another slaughter of the Slimes.

I couldn't help but curse at the effectiveness of their weapons, specifically their guns!

Just a single bullet of their rifles could instantly pierce through the cores of the slimes, killing them!

And what's even worse is that if I were to use a Dungeon Rule against those that use firearms, all the rule would be able to do is somewhat weaken them or give them a 'Punishment.'

It also means I might have to start evolving some kind of bulletproof monster!

So much to do. Who knew the life of a Dungeon Core would be so stressful?

More days passed as a few more groups of people entered the Dungeon at a time.

Which led me to believe that some sort of community lay on the other side of the portal.

They came into my Dungeon in 1 or 2 groups at a time, typically with at least one person who had a class and was in the Dungeon before.

They have also met the two other monster factions who proved to be much more challenging to fight against than the Slimes'.

So far, the only Obelisk that they have made it to was the Slimes' Obelisk.

Mainly because once the other monster factions learned of the Obelisks' functions, they began to guard them ferociously.

Especially the Ant Hive, who built over their Obelisk and built their whole hive around it, with the Obelisk being in the Queen's chambers.

And due to the Ant Hive mentality, the Queen oversaw most if not all of the evolutions the ants were offered.

The Ant Hive acted more like a single unit, while the Giant Rat swarm acted more like a tribal society that's whole hierarchy was based on strength and ability.

Then you had the Slime Horde, which had no societal structure.

Each faction had its strengths and weaknesses. It's just that the Slimes were not strong enough to stop the Delvers...

Not to mention Delver's guns are not as effective against the other monster factions.

For example, some damage to the Slime cores would instantly kill them!

But the other monster factions, while they did not have cores, could still die from fatal injuries such as damage to the brain or other organs; even blood loss could kill them.

So if I could get the cores of the Slimes to become much more durable, the Delvers would not be able to kill them nearly as easily as they already were.

Heck, I might as well start speaking into the defenses of all my monsters, even the playing field, so to say.

Anything to make it an even playing field, one where the Delvers don't have such a massive advantage over my monsters in terms of weaponry.

--------------------

A day later, I finally leveled up!

Mainly because a Giant Rat that I evolved to specifically ambush and assassinate killed a classed Delver!

I found through this kill that the difference in EXP is changed when it comes to those with classes and without.

For example, the boy I killed without a class gave me only 8 Exp.

But the man the Giant Rat killed was had a class, and well, the screen speaks for itself!

[ A Tier-0 Individual(Human, Level 3) has perished within the Dungeon! ]

[ +56 Exp ]

[A/N: Exp: Tier 0 = 50 Exp + (Level x 2)]

[ 114(58)/100 Exp ]

[ You have leveled up! ]

[ +100 Mana ]

[ You have gained a new skill, Basic Ore Creation Lvl 1/10 ]

Not only did this show me a way of obtaining more mana, but also a new way to obtain more skills!
