0006 - The Third Evolution [Edited]

Not even needing much thought, I chose both the Slime Captain and Metal Eater Slime Evolution options for the slimes.

The Slime Captain because it finally unlocked Magic for my slimes, and Metal Eater Slime because it made the perfect Ore Miner. If its Sense Metal skill worked on ore, I would have a good way of making sure no Metal Ore goes to waste.

As a few hours passed and I experimented with the two slimes, I found that the Metal Eater Slime's Sense Metal ability works like an aura around it. Still, it's far too weak to prove worthwhile at its current level, meaning I have to level the skill up until it would be somewhat helpful.

Other than that, the Captain Slime I found had a limit with its Slime Link skill being that it can only link with five other slimes at a time, and I found that the skill or Spell granted a point into strength to every slime within a meter of it at the spells current level.

Through the link shared between Captain Slime and its subordinates, I found that it could command them to be more effective in combat.

Luckily both the Slime Link Skill and the Greater in Numbers Spell could level up and become stronger, meaning that the Evolution option was worthwhile.

Other than that, I found a Notes Tab in my System and recorded some of the information I had within it.

The Notes tab was helpful in that I could record anything I needed to remember, like how many Slimes I had at the moment and their evolution paths or all of the currently discovered ore.

Other than that, I have been focusing on evolving more of my slimes and mining out the rest of the floor.

By now, the slimes have mined a complete circle around the border with my Core at the center, and from there, the slimes have been shrinking the circle and eating their way inwards towards my Core.

I mainly focused on leveling my lower-leveled Slimes and just had my two Tier 3 Slimes stay by me at my Core.

And soon enough, a few more of my Tier 2 Slimes could now evolve.

Specifically, a Dirt Slime, Stone Slime, and one of the Coal Slimes.

\=====================/

While the Dirt Slime and Stone Slime were easy choices for me, the Coal Slime had two evolution options that interested me, specifically the Lesser Fire Slime and Crystal Slime, but I chose the Crystal Slime after some thought.

Other than that, for the Dirt Slime and Stone Slime, I chose the Soil Slime and Hot Stone Slime.

The Soil Slime became slightly darker than the regular Dirt Slime, while the Hot Stone Slime seemed to be slightly lighter and was emitting a bit of heat.

While I had these two Slimes head to my Core, I eventually decided to choose the Lesser Crystal Slime due to its rarity.

The Lesser Crystal still mainly looked like a Coal Slime, but small parts of its body were crystallized and were reflective.

It still had its Combustible Skill, so it now had two forms of attack, one was to set its own body on fire, and the other was the Crystal Spikes.

But I had a feeling that if it continued to evolve into a Crystal Slime, it would lose its Combustible Skill, which is not all that big of a worry for me since I had other slimes.

I mostly took the Rarer Evolutionary Paths due to the slimes I had access to, meaning I could take any available paths and the branching paths that follow those.

But enough about that, it's time to begin some more experimentation and design the first floor.
