Day 365 (Pt 5): Your Two Cents

"Isn't Blyke gonna be super mad at us?" John questioned. He wasn't exactly sure that a lecture from Alice's dad was enough to keep Blyke away from them.

"That doesn't matter right now! Alice's... you know...i-is much more important!" Maria was sure that her priorities were set straight. "Alice could have more of those blackout vision thingies! We have to make sure that she's in top form and is safe!"

"Guys? I don't-" Alice groans.

"But Blyke could... I don't know... ummm... do something!"

"Ummm, guys?"

"But if we deal with the situation right now, then Blyke won't be able to 'do something!'"

"... I'm feeling... a little...lighthea-"

"We could at least take some extra countermeasures against him! This is the end of the world we are talking about! We have to take this more seriously or else-"

"Guyyyyyy..."

" Or else what? That's what I thought. So let's just get this over with, then do whatever!"

Alice stands up and rubs her head with both her hands. She lightly grunts, attempting to signal the others. (Just Shut UP!)

"But still...!!!"

"But what?!"

Alice falls right in front of Maria and John. However, they are too busy to notice until afterward her head loudly and suddenly, yet slowly slams the floor, shutting both John and Maria up. "Alice, are you okay?!" Maria and Johnny say at the same time as John picks Alice, Maria puts a pillow under her head and lays her on the bed, and Blyke and Mr. Boris burst into the room.

"What happened?!" Blyke quickly jumps on to the bed by his sister's side and Mr. Boris quickly scans the room for anything that could have made that noise. "Alice, are you okay?"

"She's fine, Mr. Boris. She's just taking a nap." Maria quickly responded.

"That doesn't make any sense! What made the loud noise?!" Mr. Boris angrily yelled at the group. "I'm up to here with the excuses, you guys! Just tell me the truth. What is going on?

"Oooh, you're in big trouble now!" Blyke pestered. "Hehehe."

"Shut up, Shortstack." Alice muttered. "No one ever said anything to you about your two cents." She raspberries Blyke and Blyke does it back.

"Alice?" Everyone asked in unison and examined. "You're awake?!"

Alice sits up straight and rubs her head. "Yeah, I was just taking a nap. Why? What's going on?"

President Boris was still quite suspicious afterwards, but hesitantly decided to let it go."Well then, if everything is okay, then Blyke and I will be heading out for dinner. Text me when you know what you want to eat." He and Blyke left the room and closed the door behind them.

She waits until they are gone to whisper, "Owwww! My head really hurts. Did I hit my head on something?" She kept massaging her head, but it didn't help.

"Ding, ding, ding! You guessed it. Now you get the prize of-"John said loudly in a game show voice before Maria punched him. "Ow!" he mouthed.

"They could've heard you!" She turns back to Alice. "You did just hit your head on the floor. So, do you know why you fainted?"

"No idea. I did see something, though. It looked a little similar to the last vision, but it was still different."

"Really?! Finally, some progress!" Maria happily exclaimed. "So, what did ya see?"

"Not much. It was the same vision I had a week ago, but this time, the Moon looked more cracked and damaged and had more craters."

John speculated as he paced around the room. "You seem to get visions when the future changes. Now that we know and are planning to do something about it, the future changed, we must've told people, and you got a vision."

"Well, whatever we did, it clearly wasn't enough if the Moon still crashed into the Earth!" Maria yelled.

"I don't see you coming up with any ideas, huh? Look, we need to focus. We have less than a year to come up with a plan."

"Talking to people clearly did nothing, so what should we do? Alice, any ideas?"

Alice sighed. "Nope. No matter what we do, we're doomed. Y'all should just go home."

John looked Alice up and down like she was crazy. "Darn girl, you alright? There's gotta something we can do. What if we were to" - John scans the room and paces around the room for a couple seconds-"Eureka!"

Maria excitedly stared at John. "You figured something out? We're saved! The world's saved!"

John disappointed Maria. "No, I just thought if I said that, then I would come up with an idea. Sorry."

Maria dejectedly sighed. "Oh. She's right. Let's just go home." Maria sadly begins to leave the room. Alice slightly chuckled under her breath. Maria swiftly turns around and angrily marches over to Alice. "OH I'M SORRY! IS THIS FUNNY TO YOU?!"

Alice outright laughed. "No, no, no, no! I just thought it was funny how you jumped the gun so quickly! Sorry."

John quickly exclaimed. "Oo, Oo! I got it! What if instead of focusing on how to stop the Moon, we focus on how to stop what starts the Moon crashing into the Earth?"

"But how do we do that?" Alice questioned. "We have no way of knowing what caused it. Just go home already."

"Fine! But we should meet up somewhere tomorrow, alright?" John said.

"Fine. Goodnight you two." Alice waved. Maria and John left and went home.

Alice's dad and her little brother came back and went to sleep. Alice stayed up late, hoping to have another vision. It was tiring, struggling against her lack of energy. It was an uphill battle. Alas, she was wrong.

She kept turning and taking the blanket on and off, but when she wanted to go to sleep, she couldn't! She contemplated on how she treated her little brother. He didn't deserve everything she's done to him, right. Then she remembered earlier today and her memories erased all of her regrets without leaving a single trace. She steadily drifted into another realm: the realm of unconsciousness.
