Chapter 57- Disciple

Three days had passed since the little expedition into the reverse dungeon and already much had changed.

Lucious and Liara both picked up a multitude of different quests within close proximity to one another and had gone on a little questing spree.

In doing so, Lucious managed to amass several stat and skill points which he happily used to bring each of his stats up to two hundred, the peak of the first stage. His charm however was only brought up to ninety as he didn't see the strategic value of the stat.

He had also brought Liara's intelligence to level two hundred and her perception to level one hundred.

As a result, her understanding on magic gradually increased, allowing her to figure the missing piece to finishing the invention of her own spells.

Though unsure as to the reason why, Lucious could see Liara's confidence suddenly increase as she further studied and refined the foundation of her spells.

Additionally, he gifted Liara with his mana regeneration spellbook that he bought in the dungeon, along with the light elemental spellbook purify.

Purify has many different uses such as cleaning wounds and defeating weaker undead, to name a few. But the main reason he gave her the purify spellbook is because when used with any healing spell, the effect of the healing spell becomes fifty percent more effective.

He had another spellbook in mind of the ice element, but held off on giving it to her as he wanted to give her time to learn purify.

"How's my two favourite adventurers doing?" Adrianna playfully asked as Lucious went to submit their latest batch of completed quests.

Though she maintained her professionalism when the guild was busy, that attitude would slip once things quietened down.

"Just finished the last four quests for the day." Lucious handed over the completed quest forms along with his and Liara's adventurer cards then stretched his aching muscles.

Of course, Lucious had another reason to overwork himself in completing quests en mass. Through the completion of these quests, he now qualified for a rank up from G rank to F rank. While still at the bottom of the chart, he and Liara could now take on any F rank quest which would yield greater rewards.

"Here are your new adventurer cards." Adrianna passed over two cards identical to their previous ones, the only difference was the displayed ranks from G to F.

Before heading back to the tavern in which they were residing, Adrianna informed Lucious that Sienna wanted to see him.

He had promised to allow her to train him and it seemed now was the time for that to happen.

His ears twitched uncomfortably as he thanked Adrianna and told Liara to head back without him. After parting ways, Lucious went to the address provided to him with reluctant steps.

From their previous interaction, he knew that Sienna wanted to fight him and would likely use this as an excuse to fight him under the pretext of 'training'.

The address took him through various backstreets and alleyways, the buildings blocking out any sunlight and creating a sour smell. It wasn't until he stumbled out of the last alleyway that he came across his destination.

Contrary to what he had expected, he came face to face with a small mansion with a decently sized garden. Black and white roses were being grown and meticulously cared for, their thorns providing the beautiful flowers with an alluring yet dangerous charm.

In the centre of the garden was a large water fountain made of white marble. Though what was especially remarkable was the pink coloured water that shot forth.

However, what truly drew in Lucious's attention was the woman practising her aura techniques in a nearby field.

Upon closer inspection, she looked a little like a younger version of Sienna. Her ears and tail took on the same snow white hue as Sienna's and her golden eyes had a similar intimidating stare. Her aura, on the other hand, was nowhere near as intimidating.

She wore a black leather armour that was reinforced with a silver metal of unknown material. Each strike of her sword caused her long hair to flutter around in the wind.

Lucious could tell from the strength of her attacks that she was likely a peak stage two aura master. Each attack left the field partially frozen, followed by another attack which caused the cold air to be forcefully expelled from the area.

She continued swinging her blade with precise movements as she dances around the battlefield.

Quick but precise, seems she prefers speed over brute force unlike Sienna. Lucious mused as she noticed his gaze.

Her concentrated look suddenly became one of hostility as she quickly approached him with an angry expression.

"Oi, this is private property! Get lost unless you want a beating." Though she may fight with more grace and elegance than Sienna, her attitude was just as rough.

Taken aback slightly, Lucious's lips curled into a teasing grin then playfully sighed.

"You'd have to be stronger than me to beat me up." He teased while observing her reactions.

Just as he expected, the woman's temper quickly flared as she reached out towards him.

Little shit, doesn't he see that he is an entire stage below me? Her face scrunched up in anger as she reached for his collar but was forced to stop once a familiar voice called out.

"Don't threaten my student, or I'll put you through an extra intensive routine." Sienna called out with a wide grin plastered on her face.

Snorting at the mild threat, the woman retracted her hand as she gave Lucious a venomous glare.

"Wait... student?" It wasn't until she calmed down that Sienna's words finally registered. A hint of surprise quickly etched itself on her face as she looked back towards him.

Taking another look at Lucious, who had a playful grin on his face, her confusion slowly grew as she appraised him over and over.

No matter how hard she looked, she could only see him as a weakling who was merely a peak first stage warrior. He didn't look like anything special in terms of strength, though his appearance was somewhat pleasing to the eye.

Sister wouldn't pick him based on his looks. He must have done something to impress her, though that's unlikely given how he is a mere first stage. Doubts began to set in as she waited for Sienna to introduce her to the kitsune.

"Lucious, meet my little sister Bianca. Bianca, meet Lucious, my new disciple." Sienna's wild grin sent a shiver down Lucious's spine as she cracked her knuckles.

When she sensed that Lucious was now at the peak of the first stage in just a few days, she felt a surge of excitement course through her as thoughts of fighting him filled her mind.

Lucious could tell what she was thinking and was already looking for possible escape routes should he need them in the future.

Why do I get the feeling that this is going to be a long day?
