Pine.
Faint, and riding on the chilly breeze.
His vision was blurry, he blinked a few times as he groggily pushed himself onto his side, rubbing his eyes he caught sight of a little thing hiding in the yellowish green tall grass and smiled internally, pretending not to see.
He could tell where they were, simply by a glance at his surroundings.
A field of unkempt tall grass, somewhere around his hip, over a meter tall, drooping off it's ends from it's own height and the rot in it's roots, pushed by a light breeze, wiggling back and forth almost as if to dance.
The mountains hung in the corner of his vision, casting long shadows eastward.
The little thing kept absolutely still as he looked around and he gave it his back, momentarily blinded by the sun. It was daybreak, perhaps, a little past as he raised a hand to cover his eyes, he squinted.
