Chapter 98: Misunderstanding I
"Sloane, what were you looking for in the Connor residence?" Priya asked
"I'll tell you....if you tell me what you found among your mother's belongings" Sloane said slyly
"You're being unfair. I asked first" Priya said and Sloane chuckled
"The location of certain keys needed to end this war" Sloane said calmly
"Keys?" Timothy repeated
"You brought me the first two, I found the second two, and Nathan will give me the last key, tomorrow" Sloane said
"Well, for me, I'm not even sure what I found. Until I decipher the codes, I won't be able to give you any answers" Priya said "I'm just glad I broke off my ties with the Rodik family"
"From your voice, I can tell you no longer have any regrets" Sloane said with a light smile and a sigh "Now you can focus more on stabilising your mental health" Priya kept quite for a while and chuckled
"Sure. Sure" Priya said "I don't know why, but it feels as though you aged by a couple hundred years. I really wonder what you went through during the ritual"
"I was trapped in a long nightmare where all of the past regrets and mistakes...things I wish I could have done for certain people...kept replaying time and time again" Sloane said rather very tiredly "I'm just glad I woke up and I know....not to make the same mistakes again. That way...I'll also...have no regrets" just as Sloane's head was about to hit the dashboard, Nathan took one hand off the steering wheel and caught her head
"Yikes. Did she fall asleep?" Priya asked worriedly as Nathan stopped the car "I've told her time and time again to never step outside if she still feels a bit weak" she stretched while crouched from the backseat, pulled Sloane by her shoulders before helping Sloane's head to rest against the glass window
"Does this happen often?" Timothy asked
"If she uses too much magic and pushes herself too much, it always tends to happen" Priya said as Nathan continued driving
Instead of driving and stopping in front of the woods, Nathan drove into the settlement and stopped in front of a large carpark
"When the hell was this built?" Timothy asked as he noticed the other vehicles parked there
"While everyone was busy, I took the liberty of creating this" Nathan said as he turned off the engine and got out of the car. He walked over to the passenger seat and opened the door while Timothy and Priya got out of the car. He got Sloane out and carried her in his arms before tossing the keys at Timothy. "Make sure Henry gets them" he said
"Wait. Commander Henry is out here?" Timothy asked "I thought I put him on bed rest for two days. I bet he's even skipping his medication"
"Oh God" Priya let out
"If you want to scold him, go ahead. I'll take Sloane inside" Nathan said as he walked away
"I'll return the keys" Timothy said
"Wait for me. I'll do the scolding" Priya said as she took out a ribbon and tied her hair in a low ponytail
'For some reason, I feel bad for Henry' Timothy thought as him and Priya left together.

Rodik Residence
Sarah returned back to the house, just in time for lunch. She entered the dining room and sat at the table
"Did you find her?" Dian asked and Sarah slammed her fork on the table
"No, I missed her. She took off with that guy, some other guy named Nathan, and Sloane Michelle, in a luxury car" Sarah said
"Sloane Michelle came back to town?" Irene asked
"Is that even important? I heard 'luxury car'" Jake said "Are you serious?"
"Yep. Sloane was in Greenwood Springs but she left right after she picked up what she needed" Sarah said "Life in another town under the protection of the rich, must be really nice"
"So Priya decided to ride on Sloane's coattails" Dian said "Not surprising. She let a stranger insult her family and walked away with the same stranger. When Sloane doesn't need her again, I'm sure she'll be disposed of"
"We're not her family anymore, remember?" Irene asked "She cut ties with all of us. Plus, although there are several rumors about Sloane Michelle, I've met the girl before and people naturally tend to gather around her when they know her personality. In that sense, Priya is pretty lucky. The girl has been a thorn in our sides for a while now, so it doesn't matter what happens to her anymore"
"Good point" Dian said as he continued eating

The next day
Before the sun was even up, Priya entered the bathroom to take a hot shower and go through her normal morning routine. When she came out of the bathroom, she creamed herself and got dressed in a dark purple nurse's outfit before putting on her shoes and leaving the room.
"You ready?" Fernanda asked while using encrypted speech. She was also dressed in the same uniform as Priya.
"Looks like it. We have countless deliveries today. We might have to use cloning spells left and right" Mary answered in Priya's stead, while stepping out of her room
"Let's go wake the boys. We can't be the only ones suffering like this" Priya said "I for one, don't want to be stuck in bed like Sloane, Kathy and Xavier"
"Will the boys really help?" Mary asked
"With Demon General Kathy in hibernation mode, and with Giselle and Mickey still being kids, the boys are our last hope" Fernanda said and they all left the girls area and went up the stairs to the boys area
Surprisingly, they bumped into Nathan at the top of the stairs. He was wide awake and had a book in hand. As soon as he noticed the girls, he looked down the hallway
"Timothy is in the last room to the right and Clark's is directly opposite" Nathan said "Oh and next time you want to get up early, don't forget to place sound barriers in your rooms. I could hear you singing in my sleep, Priya"
"Sorry" Priya said as Nathan walked passed them and went down the stairs "I keep forgetting how sensitive his ears are"
"You're not the only one" Fernanda and Mary agreed
"Wait a second. Wasn't King Lucard moved here?" Fernanda asked and the looks on Mary and Priya's faces said it all "I'll go check on his condition. I'll meet you guys downstairs" she said before turning around and heading up another set of stairs.
Mary and Priya looked at each other before walking up to Timothy and Clark's rooms. The women didn't even bother knocking as Priya entered Timothy's room while Mary entered Clark's before shutting the door.

Inside Clark's room
Clark was sound asleep on his bed with only his pajama pants on. For a guy who had recently gotten slightly muscular after two years in the spirit world, the feeling he gave off reminded Mary of an aged elder. It was the main reason she had accepted Clark as her master and swore eternal servitude to him.
"Clark, it's morning. Wake up" Mary said, a bit emotionless as she set up the sound barrier
Clark turned on the bed and faced her. As he opened his eyes, the shadowy blackness of the whites of his eyes came into view while his green irises glowed
"What are you doing here?" Clark asked "I have no business to tend to this early in the morning"
"I suggestion to you, is to first control your bloodline before you unintentionally use magic again" Mary said while flicking on all the room lights
"Why are you so cold?" Clark asked as he sat up and adjusted his eyes to the sudden light while they reverted back to normal "You should-"
"Lord Clark, I am the magic associations ultimate war weapon. I am just like Josey" Mary said "My time in this world means nothing to me. Yet, I have done a lot of things that are out of character despite knowing that"
"Mary-"
"My reason for coming here today, is because your help is needed at the hospital" Mary said before turning her head away from him "The deliveries are today and if it's only the three of us, women, we'll be forced into bed rest"
"Deliveries? I'm a man and you expect me to deliver a baby?"
"In the profession of gynecology, it's mostly men who do said work" Mary said plainly and that ended the argument
"I'll take a shower and get dressed" Clark said as he got off the bed and entered the bathroom
'I really have been doing things out of character' Mary thought as she sat on Clark's bed 'As Sloane prepares for war, I'll need to protect my master...even if it means sacrificing myself'

In Timothy's room
At the same time, Priya was wondering how she had gotten herself into such an embarrassing situation as she waited for Timothy to come out of the bathroom.
Earlier
As soon as Priya entered Timothy's room and shut the door, she first noticed that his room was taking in a lot of moonlight and then, she noticed that he had almost nothing on other than a pair of shorts and the duvet that was slightly covering him. Seeing him like this, almost made her blush
'No Priya, you didn't come to be tempted' she thought as she slapped her cheeks and sighed. She walked up to him and was just about to drag the duvet right off when, Timothy suddenly mumbled in his sleep and her hands paused midway
'Is he dreaming about someone?' she wondered 'A nightmare...or...' as soon as she dragged the blanket off him, she noticed a large bump in his groin area and her mind went blank
Timothy woke up from sleep as soon as he no longer felt the blanket covering his. His piercing teal eyes caught Priya as the perpetrator and the next thing he saw as soon as he woke up, was her staring at his groin.
Priya slowly turned to look at him but a blush covered her face as soon as she realised he was wide awake and had caught her in the act
"I...There...You..."
"Priya, what the..." he said with a sigh and she dropped the duvet and took some steps back. Timothy could already predict she was going to scream and immediately set up a sound barrier. Right after, Priya screamed to her heart's content and fell on her butt
"No, Tim...it's...it's not what you think"
"Priya..." Timothy said as he got out of bed and pushed away his the loose strands of hair from his face while Priya looked away from him
"I was just...trying to wake you up....because we needed help at the hospital today...."
"Priya..."
"I wasn't trying...to look or anything....seriously"
"Priya, just calm down and shut up" Timothy shouted and her mouth instinctively shut. He sighed and lifted her up to her feet "Calm down. I know, you might have a bad attitude but you're not that type of person so calm down. I won't judge"
"D-down...is...big" Priya muttered and Timothy was dumbfounded
"I'll take a shower, so sit here and wait. We'll talk about this later" Timothy said as he sat her down on the bed and entered inside the bathroom.
Present
'He was so big' Priya thought "I don't think he'll fit even if I grab him with my two hands" she mumbled
"What did you say?" Timothy asked as he came out from the bathroom, fully dressed in the same uniform
"Nothing" Priya said with a smile and a hidden blush "Let's go" she said as she got off the bed and walked towards the door
"Aren't we going to talk about what happened?" Timothy asked with folded arms as he approached her
"What happened?" Priya repeated as she blushed again with her hands on the doorknob "It's too embarrassing. Let's not talk about it at all and pretend like nothing happened"
"Your choice. I just didn't want there to be any misunderstandings" Timothy said as he brought down the sound barrier and they both left the room together
