The sun was getting ready to bid the day goodbye when Shikera stepped out of the hospital into the open air. It was evening.
So much time had passed and she had no idea. It was what anticipation and worry did to her.
"I should be able to manage now," she thought.
Her mind went back to what had happened earlier that morning when she was retching her guts out in the basin. She had imagined how it would be if she was not able to deliver the baby before... leaving. Then her life would be more than vain. Liam could adopt a daughter and forget about her as soon as possible, and the thought of that didn't pain her one bit.
Noah would be opportuned to take riskier missions at work, since thinking about her was what had been holding him back. That also didn't affect her one bit.
