A totally different world

"What even is that?" 

In the depth of Xua Ho's mind, memories flooded and merged with his own memories and experiences from his previous life. In a fraction of time, he lived a new life.

Through the haze, he pieced together fragments of this new existence. He was now in the body of a mortal named Li Huo, devoid of the divine powers and eternal life he once possessed. Yet, there was a peculiar quality to this world, a blend of familiarity and strangeness that intrigued him.

The moving paintings, which were apparently called "avertissements," one of these was an ad for a game playable in a new type of virtual reality which permitted to play like being in real life. This game was called "Grand YuZhou." This ad was filled with pictures of places that were familiar to Xua Ho; this was the world where he once lived.

After thinking for a moment, he searched in his newfound memory for some type of information: does he have a family, what is his situation in life, and all sorts of things.

Li Huo was a student at a university in Chengdu. He was 21 and was a brilliant boy who concentrated on his studies and wanted to become a businessman. Regarding family, he had lost his parents in a car accident while he was at work. His only remaining family was his sister Chun Huo who, compared to him, didn't pursue long studies for a diploma but got employed in the company that started creating ads for "Grand YuZhou."

So he just decided to go to his apartment which he shared with his sister, in the hope of finding out more things about this game or even try to play it.

Once arrived in front of his door, he walked in, looking at each room and searching for his sister, who didn't seem to be there. After waiting for more than 2 hours doing nothing but looking through the windows, Chun Huo finally returned.

"What's with this face? Have you seen a ghost or something?"

"No, I was—"

Just before he had time to reply, Chun Huo buried him in a forceful hug that lasted for long seconds.

"So what type of ghost have you seen?" his sister teased.

"It's nothing, I was just in a hurry to see you, I wanted you to buy me something..." he sighed.

"What am I, a wallet?" she quickly responded with a bit of anger on her face.

"N-no, it's not like that! You were just the only person who can find me this!"

"And what is it that you want?" Chun Huo replied with wariness.

"Nothing big, just the new game called Grand YuZhou. I heard from friends that it was going to be the best game ever created, and I wanted to play it," Li Huo explained with a calm tone, finally answering his sister's question.

"Uh, what a great sister am I!" she said while opening the door and retrieving a box. "I already knew you were gonna want this game so I just got it from my manager," she said while smiling.

"Big sis, you know you are the best, right?"

"Of course, I am, who else?" she quickly responded while returning to her room. But just before entering, she turned and warned, "Don't play too late or I'll end you."

Right after that, Liu Huo opened the box and started to configure the VR set that came with the game. Once he did, he quickly placed the helmet on his head.

Just as he did, his world stopped, and he saw a game window with a countdown and different statistics for his character.
