"Damnitall, this stupid world is one headache after another." Ken grumbled to himself as soon as he started regaining consciousness with another headache. Before he understood what had happened, he was tightly hugged by a warm embrace.

"My love, please promise me that you'll never scare me like that again or you will scare me into an early grave?" Shyla complained to Keiren with tears in her eyes and frustration in her voice.

Ken reached out to return the hug and softly said: "I will try my best, but with us in a completely new world, I'd rather not make any promises I'm not certain I can keep. Had I known this would happen, I swear that I would have warned you, darling."

"Stupid idiot." Shyla cursed and hit him on the chest.

"Ahem, I get that you're a newlywed couple, but come on Sis, there are other people in the room." David remarked after clearing his throat to remind the two of them that they weren't alone, nor that she had been the only one to worry about Ken.

"Let's give him a chance to stand up first. As his wife, nothing is stopping you from continuing this lecture at any point in the future." Kerum joined in the teasing, relieved that Ken was seemingly fine.

"Hmph, how about I just throw all the noisy people out of the room?" Shyla retorted.

"I will not go down without a fight, little girl." Kerum retorted. He had always been the type of guy that would rather break than bend.

>> Congratulations, Host, you've completed the Hidden Mission "Protect the Emperor from the Empress' anger" <<

>> Reward: 3 Level Ups and the special ability: Anger Magnet (Shyla) <<

"You're the best, Shyla." Kerum stepped forward to kiss Shyla on her forehead.

"Huh?" The young woman was completely baffled by this sudden 180° turn in Kerum's tone.

"My System just rewarded me with 3 Levels thanks to you. I am now a 3rd Layer Mortal Stage cultivator." Kerum explained excitedly as he winked at Shyla. "It would be bad manners if I didn't thank you for your help."

"Sure… whatever." Shyla sneered, not sure how else to react.

"Galatris? Can you tell me a little more about this place?" Ken asked, not even trying to understand the influx of information his Summoners System had just bombarded him with.

"Sure, right now you are standing in the Immortal Palace of my Thunder-eagle Clan. We are a part of the Eternal Summit, which is a huge mountain range, about 560 million km² big. Coincidentally, some claim the first Eternal Emperor was born in it, though it's impossible to tell how true that is as a total of 170 cities throughout Chaosia have proclaimed themselves to be the only true Eternal City."

"There are roughly 12 big and 24 small cities of importance, and endless small tribes of multiple races. The 7 largest mountains are home to the strongest Sects and Clans in this area. Aside from my Thunder-eagle Clan, that would be the Moving Sword Sect, the Holy Asura Clan, the Moon-Hunter Sect, the Monastery of the Fallen Sun, the Dragon Ascension Sect, and the Open Treasure Sect."

"I can tell you only a little about the structure of the other mountains, but as for the Imperial Mountain, it is split into four sections: the Mortal Palace, the Immortal Palace, the Imperial Palace, and the Emperor's Palace. As the names indicate, they are each governing the various people under your rule. One for Mortal Realm Cultivators, one for Immortal Realm Cultivators, one for Imperial Realm Cultivators, and one for the Emperor himself and his trusted Emperor Realm Cultivators." Galatris answered openly and without any reserves.

"Thank you, but before you dive any deeper into politics, could you tell me what a Rescan-Amun is?" Ken asked after he digested the information he just received.

"I'm surprised you know of them. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I can give you a satisfying answer. According to the legends and myths I've heard the Rescan-Amun were the ancestors of the Asura. However, no one here can tell you if this is right or wrong.

"Some legends describe them as giants with multiple pairs of arms and wings attached on their back. Others tell us that they are the worst of all demons, feasting on death and destruction itself. What exactly brought out this sudden question?" Galatris asked, confused.

"My System informed me that I have a Divine Rescan-Amun bloodline, so I was curious," Ken answered.

"... well, you should start cultivating and rest early tonight. I still have a few things to attend to, so I will leave first," Galatris said, seemingly in a rush to leave the group of friends alone. The longer he stayed, the crazier things he was being told, and he could only handle so much for one day.

Just when he was about to head to his own room, one of the servants informed him that there was an important guest waiting for him, one who claimed to be an old friend of Galatris. The giant eagle was baffled, he didn't expect anyone to pay him a visit at this, yet since it would be rude to let his guest wait, he headed to the sideroom. There, he found a man sitting on a table staring down a glass of excellent wine.

"Defrem… What crime did I commit that you curse me with your presence?" Galatris' formerly regal tone changed completely, treating his guest like a hoodlum. That wasn't the only change, as the giant eagle also took on a humanoid form, sitting down on the free chair opposite to the drinking man, who had a huge grin on his face.

"Galatris, you old bird, is that how you greet an old friend?" The man rebutted, using the one wine bottle on the table to fill in a cup for his host.

"If the old friend happens to be a stupid idiot, I dare to say it is the only right way to greet him." Galatris answered as he partook in his own alcohol.

"Ahhh, how I wish I could pummel out that arrogance from your stupid bird brain." Defrem sighed, seemingly desperately disappointed that he was unable to.

"Arrogance? Stupid bird brain? How many wine bottles have you had to forget that I'm stronger than you? Besides, if anything, I should be the one to blast some sense into that stupid human brain sitting on your incompetent head."

Like this, the two continued to banter and curse for about two hours, while the servants continued bringing in more wine and food for the two old friends who were reminiscing about their shared memories about the good old times.

"Alright, old fool, you've never been one to appear out of nowhere without any ulterior motive, and don't even try to bullshit me that this was merely a courtesy visit. Out with it, did something happen to you?" Galatris asked with serious concern written all over his face.

"Geez, fine, can't leave me with any face, can you? As you might know, not long after my last visit, I was fortunate enough to finally find myself a Seedling. 7 Galaxies Universe Talent, just entered the Immortal Realm, truly a blessing to have as a disciple. His only vice was that he might have been too aggressive for his strength, but HAHAHA who wasn't a hotblooded fool in their youth?!

"So far the last 40 Years I continued guiding him, leading him to break through three entire layers!!! His foundation was steady, so I didn't have any worries there, yet at some point during his adventures he fell head over heels in love. His choice wasn't bad, a young talented girl who had reached the Mortal God Stage at around 300 years, just a shy step away from breaking through to the Immortal Realm.

"What's more, she seemed to like him back, but… as it goes with those Clans, greed got them by the cock. With her kind of talent, others naturally wanted to wed her off to their future Sect Masters. Unable, or perhaps unwilling, to offend any of the Sects, her Elders decided to hold a tournament with her hand as the prize.

"I might be stupid, but I will never understand those people… for a talented young girl to get auctioned off like a prized horse or cattle. For what? Just to gain prestige and a little bit of fame?" Defrem shook his head, before he emptied his glass, refilling it and offering to do the same for Galatris. The latter, however, shook his head, prompting his friend to continue.

"Naturally, my boy couldn't just give up on his love. The competition was fierce and plentiful, but he never backed down, eventually reaching the final fight. Unfortunately, his opponent was a half-step Immortal Lord… I won't mince my words, he was crushed. Still, his fighting spirit was praiseworthy, he fought until he couldn't stand anymore and reluctantly admitted defeat, yet rather than earning respect for his bravery his opponent started to mock him for his weakness."

"Unwilling to listen in further, I swooped in and picked him up from the stage before I fed him a high-grade Immortal Healing Pill. If only I had taken him away, or healed him later… Instead, I allowed him to say goodbye to his love. He walked up to the girl and apologized for his inability to win. Then..." Defrem's voice faded for a moment, and he took a mighty swing straight out of the wine bottle, "... THOSE FUCKERS KILLED MY DISCIPLE! THEY MURDERED HIM IN COLD BLOOD!!! I tried to save him, but I was powerless in front of the Old Ancestor who was a Supreme Immortal. The only reason they let me go was because they knew the fate that would befall them if they injured a Guardian!"

The story was finalized with Defrem finishing the bottle and throwing it to the side. This was a roller coaster of feelings for Galatris, and he felt the grief and sorrow of his friend.

"I've come here to ask for guidance, and REVENGE..." the last part was a growl as anger and killing intent shone from his eyes.
