Chapter 5: Last minute

The lifetime of memories flashed within his mind like the currents of a river.

Once he finished the air around Sam stilled, no to be precise it froze as if afraid to move and then like the calm before the storm it hit

BOOM

His aura flared as he roared "THEY DARE?!!!!" his wrath was a mix of his and Carl's he witnessed his tortures and pain, a being he considered a friend a brother to be treated so ... and worst of all he saw his own fate and future his own demise under the same folks it irked him to his core as on this night and oath was made

"EVEN IF THE CELESTIAL HAVENS DESCEND ONTO THIS WORLD EVEN IF THE ABYSS SPLITS OPEN AND SEETHES WITH VOID TO YOU ALL WHO DEEMED IT FIT TO TOY WITH MY KIN, I WILL END YOOOUUUU!!!!!.." his golden eyes now tainted with scarlet crimson pupils that only sought slaughter "... EVEN IF ITS THE LAST THING I DO," he vowed as he calmed himself.

Numerous plans formulated in his mind as he sought to first make his foundation before it begun

"The launch of Vestia Online I look forward to it now more than ever."

That night Sam didn't sleep as he went out again only this time he brought a bag to put his clothes in.

He ventured into the Cities Cemetery, in the cold night he sat alone in the resting place of the dead.

Although some souls had already dissipated, some were still quite solid... well as solid as souls could be.

Sam sat alone as he let his soul manifest, he let it's light shine so bright that all the Souls in the Cemetery saw it.

And like moths to a latern they followed the light which slowly but surely turned into a black hole that swallowed them whole.

The souls of the buried however didn't have as much hostility as those of the alley, they had already made peace with or accepted their deaths which was one of the ways a soul could truly ascend and not be bound to their plane.

After absorbing them whole he left and visited another and another and another until he finally felt the door to the second stage of the Celestial Body.

Which he soon broke and advanced into, this was a relief to him as from Carl's memories he was aware of far more details which made him far more pressured.

"I've cleared out the souls in all the Major Cemeteries within my City. Let's see if there's any wondering Souls around, plus it's a good way to see the extent of my soul sense."

Sam remained seated as he let his soul sense flourish and to his suprise in covered the entirety of the city and then he noticed it

"These souls... they are just like Carl's, this quality why is there an influx of Transmigrated Souls?"

Sam questioned as he shot up to the locations of the souls and using the ghost Cultivators technique he marked them.

He then traced the Souls which were quite a few in number, he luckily got them while they were in the process of trying to merge with their current bodies which like Sam had said was a complete failure.

He therefore got a boon of absorbing a hundred souls instead of fifty, with fifty being on par with Carl's or slightly stronger or weaker, that was the case with sixteen of the fifty. With the other fifty being elevated into a higher level than ordinary humans.

"Whoever is doing this Transmigration is doing a poor job, he's not saving anyone but rather killing alot. Aren't they afraid of timeline variations? The only way one could survive this sloppy transmigration is if they were on the brink of death. But surviving transmigration and surviving death are different things, for someone to be on the brink of Death, then their death is inevitable unless they are lucky.

Plus is it that only thirty people were Transmigrated or is it that I was only able to perceive only these few, only time will tell."

He soon begun to absorb the hundred souls which helped him enter the Seventh Stage of the Celestial Body. He sighed hoping his last minute actions would have an impact.

He then returned home dawn was almost approaching as he finally let the exhaustion hit him as he fell asleep.

He was unable to sense the presence of his mother who at around two woke up to check in her children only to find him missing. She had stayed up all night pacing back and forth untill four thirty when she heard the sound of windows closing.

She rushed to Sam's room only to find him collapsed from exhaustion not even caring to cover himself or bath as he had quite the smell.

She covered him with the sheets before leaving silently sobbing and blaming herself for whatever her son had gotten himself into due to her lack of monetary support.

<The Next Day>

Sam woke up assaulted by the morning, well almost noon sun light illuminated his room. His mind has been exhausted from the events of the previous night.

He stood up and freshened up before listing a number of things from Carl's memories.

"I've already sorted through the relevant bits of Carl's memories for the best way to accumulate money," he contemplated "your pains and losses shall not be in vain."

He then stared at the Headset with a smile before he begun to set it up, he then left his room and had his brunch as his mother and siblings had already left.

"Don't push yourself too hard. Love mom."

He read the small note held up on the fridge by a small magnet, his heart warmed as his thoughts wandered to his family.

His mother Melissa Amory, she was a single mother who did various jobs to provide for her family. They didn't have debts and what not to worry about, her only worries were fees for their education and their basic needs but even this proved to be challenging as she would juggle a minimum of two to three jobs in a daily basis.

Lucas and Lucia Amory were twins, Sam's younger siblings who were in their final year of highschool.

Lucia was the older sister, she was a book worm who enjoyed reading so long as it was something interesting.

She was a bright student and was putting her all into her exams hoping to get a scholarship her reason was.....

"I want mom to sleep more often, she's usually only home every once in awhile, she only sleeps three times a week, that's not healthy you know."

This was something she had only ever told Sam while crying when she failed to become the first in her overall Class results.

Lucas unlike Lucia was less of a book person and more of an athlete, he was a popular basketball player and was also talented in football too, he however only gave the bare minimum to his studies and focused his all in basketball. He was also gunning for a scholarship through sports like his sister and his reason.... "I want to see mom eat more, she barely eats and is usually at work. I used to think she ate before us but... turns out she didn't eat at all unless necessary and moms necessary is three days."

Sam sighed thinking about his siblings who each wanted to lessen their mothers burdens in their own way.

"It doesn't matter, I'll make sure to make it big by the end of the year. Six months are enough for me to rise" he vowed as he went to his room and did some minor stretches before finally Launching the game.
