Chapter 1 - Green Thunder

On a stormy day in the city of Volta Redonda-RJ, a 20-year-old man with brown skin and curly hair was seen running in the rain.

He had a book over his head to protect himself at least a little bit from the rain. While he was running, he also kept grumbling nonstop.

"Shit,I should have checked the weather forecast before coming to the library to study, the sky was so clear and there were no clouds when I left for the library. Because of that, I didn't even think about taking the umbrella that was just lying next to the door. "

-Sigh

John was an ordinary civil engineering student who had just started his second year at the university, If it weren't for his poor studying environment at home he wouldn't even consider studying in the library.

Although he couldn't be considered a genius he was still somehow above average and it together with his love for study, he always was distinguished from his peers.

This could be traced in his university life where, apart from his normal assigned classes, he would also usually pick one or two more classes from diverse departments. Apart from his passion for reading novels, acquiring knowledge was his top priority, leading him to even neglect his love life.

As John continued to run, he was getting closer and closer to his house. But what he didn't realize because he was busy muttering to himself was that just above his rented house was a strange cloud that was glowing a deep green color.

After running for a couple of minutes, John finally arrived at his house's front door. His clothes were completely soaked in water and the book he used to cover his head was now beyond recognition.

"Sigh."

John could only sigh and blame his bad luck for encountering such heavy rain.

"I knew that trying to use a book to cover my head wasn't the best idea, but it was my only option. And I just bought this book."

He mumbled while looking at his now destroyed book. He bought this book together with another set of books because it had a huge discount over. It somehow caught his interest because it was advertised as a magic tome that could teach its owner earth type magic. It had a unique appearance with a green stone detail in its center.

Remembering the time that he bought the book, he laughed.

"Kek, magic... how could something like that exist in this world? At least it was somehow a surprisingly good book to pass time and exercise my mathematical abilities and algorithm abilities as it tried to teach me some earth magic."

He laughed while remembering the contents of the book. In the beginning, he believed that the book was just someone else's cheap joke to make money, but it surprisingly contained some knowledge related to mathematical equations and even some algorithms. In the end, it was an overall nice finding for him to pass his time while also learning. Unfortunately, it was now all gone.

"Sigh, let's forget about it and enter before I catch a cold. Maybe later I'll try to find a new copy of it."

His hand slowly reached the door handle as he continued to mumble to himself, unaware of the changes that were occurring in the clouds above his head.

As his hand touched the door handle, the cloud that was undergoing massive changes above his house released a dark green thunder that struck him and illuminated the entire city with a blinding green color.

When the blinding green light was gone, John was no longer anywhere to be seen. There was just an open door, and in front of it lay a burned book with a small bright green stone in its center.
