A Playdate

If only it was safe for her to turn and start running to Timothy's home, but she didn't want the news headlines to be, "THE WEREWOLVES EXISTS." She pictured out how the news anchor would announce the news so nice and it will attract many viewers.

The human world had its problems and she has had a share of that and she still does at her workplace. Their issues were so many, they were changing every day. If it wasn't hunger, then it was flooding. If it wasn't politics then it would be news from schools concerning the students, maybe rioting or schools being torched down.

It was hectic.

But people have got to live.

She looked again and listened to whether a car or a bus was coming from a distance but there was no sound of an oncoming car. She had no time to walk as she would normally do, and even if the meeting with the alpha had taken a few minutes, she was worried.

She had worn her running shoes as a second option, if there was no car on the road she would run. It was late anyway and no one was going to wonder no one was even going to care. Some people normally run in the evening on the road as a form of workout.

The run began, her wolf sensed her uneasiness and it tried to calm her down, at that moment it wasn't sarcastic or being funny in any way as it always was. It didn't want Gal to do anything she was going to regret.

As she run, she felt proud of her wolf, for once it was not making some jokes or asking stupid questions. The sight of where Timothy lived with her parents made her inhale happily, she felt good and she swore to start running in the evenings. The morning was a no-go zone, she couldn't see herself waking up early in the morning and running.

For her, the morning was meant for sleeping.

Climbing the stairs, she thought of the serious talk she was going to have first with Timothy's mother, second Timothy, and then lastly her brother. But Timothy didn't have to be talked to, right? He didn't have anything to do with why his mother had left Jordan to stay with them up to that time.

Arriving at Timothy's door, she knocked and got no answer, with a sigh she turned the knob and it opened. She tried calling but got no answer. "Where were they?" She wondered. She thought maybe they were in Timothy's bedroom playing video games and he had forgotten he was supposed to go home. It was late.

There was no one either in Timothy's room, she walked into Timothy's mother's bedroom and no one was there. She tried to think of anywhere they would have been and nothing came into her mind.

At that moment she wished after the talk with the alpha, she would have gone and picked up her phone, but she didn't remember she was busy thinking of bolting out as soon as the alpha finished talking to her.

Michaela came into her mind, she hoped maybe Timothy's mother had dropped them there. Maybe she was too busy and wanted to drop Timothy and Jordan and then pick them later on.

She walked out of the apartment, ensuring she close the door behind her, walked down faster the stairs, and ran to Michaela's place, and her wolf was still talking to her. Reassuring her that it was sure that wherever Jordan was he was okay or maybe they were going to find him at Michaela's place. Nothing has happened.

"Okay, other than that. Today is our day, this is good you know? Running I mean, let us do this more often. I know you hate the mornings but I can come up with a perfect plan to wake you up." Her wolf continued.

Gal smiled and told the wolf they were going to talk about running later, but there was no way she was going to listen to any plan the wolf had concerning waking up in the morning. She knew the wolf would make a big deal out of that and wake her up before the cock even crows.

She arrived at a Michaela apartment and knocked. Michaela came and opened the door with a bowl in her hand ready to smack her.

"Seriously Michaela, a bowl?" Gal asked her best friend. Michaela smiled and asked Gal to enter, she asked her why she was there at that time of the evening. It was unusual.

"I am looking for Jordan, is he here?" Gal asked looking around hoping to see Jordan.

Unfortunately, he couldn't see him so she looked back at Michaela. Michaela told her she hasn't seen him and she was sure Jordan was with Timothy, the boys were inseparable. Gal said thanks to Michaela and turned to leave and hoped to find Jordan had come back with Timothy.

Michaela went to take her shoe and told Gal she was going to go with her, Gal asked Michaela for her phone and tried calling Timothy's mother but she was off. Things were not getting any better. They walked fast to Timothy's home, and even though she was walking very fast Michaela didn't complain she knew her best friend was thinking of every possible reason as to where her baby brother was.

They arrived and went up and found the door opened, and Gal could hear her brother's laughter. She became furious, she was there panicking and Jordan was laughing with Timothy, she didn't bother to knock and entered while calling her brother.

"Yes, sister. Hello there Michaela?" Jordan said coming towards them, and to make it even worse the boy was smiling.

"Hello, Jordan. How was school?" Michaela replied to the boy and began shuffling his hair.

"Seriously Michaela, how was school?" Gal asked before Jordan could even answer. The question he was supposed to be asked was whether he wanted her sister to die from being scared of what might have happened.

Jordan looked at her with a knowingly look, he knew he was in a big problem. He hugged his sister and looked at Timothy as if asking him to come and save him. Timothy came staring down and greeted them.

Timothy's mother came from the kitchen and apologized for not calling Gal and explained to her that her phone's battery had died had she had forgotten to charge. She then explained why they were late and hadn't brought Jordan, the boys had just gone to a friend's house to play games. It was like a playdate.

A playdate? Seriously?

It angered Gal, she wanted to ask the woman that. And which friend was that, Gal didn't know Jordan had any new friends. Where was that trophy for the "Worst Sister"? Gal was sure for the second time of the day she deserved the trophy.

She just said she understood and ask Jordan to get his bag so they would leave. The woman asked them to stay for supper and from the look on Jordan's face, he wanted to stay and eat whatever the woman had made for supper.

Gal couldn't say no to her so they went to the dining table and ate while talking. Her heart was calm as they ate the food it was delicious; she made a mental note to speak to Jordan about how scary it was for him not to be at home at the required time.

And a few minutes of waiting to have the conversation wouldn't hurt, right?
