Chapter 14: Conflicted
"There she is!" Kit called out excitedly as Alex approached the table she and Gemma had claimed.
Alex rolled her eyes, slightly embarrassed at the volume of Kit's voice but she wasn't that surprised when she spotted the cocktails in front of her two friends. They had invited Alex to happy hour so that they could catch up after a jet setting few weeks for Alex.
"I told you I was coming," Alex said with a smile as she kissed both Gemma and Kit on the cheek before sitting down.
"I know but you've been so busy," Kit pouted. "What's the point of you moving here, if you're actually never here?"
Alex laughed and shrugged. "I'm not traveling any more than I usually do, you're just finally in a position to notice."
"It's crazy," Gemma chimed in. "We're going to have to start scheduling some time together."
"That's actually a great idea," Alex enthused. "We should start a shared calendar with Vero. We'll probably see each other more if we do."
