Chapter 11: Hands Off!
Birdy hovered outside Alex's bedroom door nervously, wringing her hands in front of her. She had decided that one day of stewing over the kiss was enough and the best way forward was to talk to Alex about it. The only problem was that coming to that resolution hadn't made her feel any braver or approaching Alex any easier.
She'd been pacing in front of Alex's door for a few minutes, grateful for the carpet obscuring the sound of her footsteps. The truth was that she wasn't sure how to approach this - she'd never had this conversation with anyone, ever. Birdy had a feeling that she would experience more firsts now that she was single.
Hopefully not all of them would be this awkward.
As Birdy finally steeled her nerves and raised her hand to knock, Alex's door opened to reveal a surprised Alex with a suitcase at her side.
"Oh," Alex muttered in shock before smiling at Birdy warmly. "Sorry, I didn't hear you knock."
