Cover art isn't owned by me, original owner feel free to request I remove it if you so choose. This is a work in progress I've had sitting in inkstone since around the time I started The Immortal Kobold, you may note a drastic difference in chapter lengths, this was typed before I settled on a "standard" for myself so they range from 1300 words to 2900.

CONTINGENCY

PREVIEW: "I would back up if I were you...as to not ruin that pretty little night gown", I warned while the barrel of my pistol looked down at her husband's head. She glanced at me and fearfully looked down at her naked feet. "Now which one of you hit Max?" They remained silent and that pissed me off even more. "Since everyone appears to be mute and useless, I might as well kill you both; pick who goes first or I will." I quickly pulled out my knife and threw it towards the woman using my left hand; it missed her head by a mere two inches. From where I stood, I could almost taste the fear that radiated from her. "Now that I've demonstrated my seriousness, I expect some answers in a timely manner." I was very rational when need be. "I...I didn't mean to hit hi-", Darrel began, But I had already made my choice; therefore he was useless to me and regardless of how he would plead for his life, one of us wasn't going to make it out alive. "Well that's a nice sentiment but you won't be around to touch any one anymore, not even that beautiful wife of yours". An evil smirk plastered on my face. Without restraint I pulled the trigger, the weapon adjusted in my hand. Power coursed through my veins as I felt no remorse as usual. Specks of blood covered my face and shirt. Witnessing the assassination of her husband, the wife began to weep; "you'll pay for this", she whispered through gritted teeth. SUMMARY: Zena Carter has always been a troubled soul. This Humble Commoner, Respectively Askes This Prestigious CEO To Take 10 Steps Back!

To make an long story short, I died. From overworking. I thought it would have been a relief to have been freed from such a lifestyle. I was wrong. The Book of Chronicles

The Greek title, paraleipomena, means “things omitted,” or “passed over” (i.e., in the accounts found in Samuel and Kings). The Books of Chronicles, however, are much more than a supplement to Samuel and Kings; a comparison of the two histories discloses striking differences of scope and purpose. The Books of Chronicles record in some detail the lengthy span (some five hundred fifty years) from the death of King Saul to the return from the exile. Unlike today’s history writing, wherein factual accuracy and impartiality of judgment are the norm, biblical history, with rare exceptions, was less concerned with reporting in precise detail all the facts of a situation than with drawing out the meaning of those facts. Biblical history was thus primarily interpretative, and its purpose was to disclose the action of the living God in human affairs. For this reason we speak of it as “sacred history.” These characteristics are apparent when we examine the primary objective of the Chronicler (the conventional designation for the anonymous author) in compiling his work. Given the situation which confronted the Jewish people at this time (the end of the fifth century B.C.), the Chronicler realized that Israel’s political greatness was a thing of the past. Yet, for the Chronicler, Israel’s past held the key to the people’s future. In particular, the Chronicler aimed to establish and defend the legitimate claims of the Davidic monarchy in Israel’s history, and to underscore the status of Jerusalem and its divinely established Temple worship as the center of religious life for the Jewish people. If Judaism was to survive and prosper, it would have to heed the lessons of the past and devoutly serve its God in the place where he had chosen to dwell, the Temple in Jerusalem. From the Chronicler’s point of view, the reigns of David and Solomon were the ideal to which all subsequent rule in Judah must aspire. The Chronicler was much more interested in David’s religious and cultic influence than in his political power, however. He saw David’s (and Solomon’s) primary importance as deriving rather from their roles in the establishment of Jerusalem and its Temple as the center of the true worship of the Lord. Furthermore, he presents David as the one who prescribed the Temple’s elaborate ritual (which, in point of fact, only gradually evolved in the Second Temple period) and who appointed the Levites to supervise the liturgical services there. The Chronicler used a variety of sources in writing his history. Besides the canonical Books of Genesis, Exodus, Numbers, Joshua, and Ruth, and especially the Books of Samuel and Kings, he cites the titles of many other works which have not come down to us, “The Books of the Kings of Israel,” or “The Books of the Kings of Israel and Judah,” and “The History of Gad the Seer.” In addition, the Chronicler’s work contains early preexilic material not found in the Books of Kings. The principal divisions of 1 Chronicles are as follows: Genealogical Tables The History of David

Inayah's Kismet

The first time they met, he saw her in only her underwear from his glass mansion across her small apartment window. So he said to her, ‘leave’ or ‘sell’ your house to me. The second time they met, he called her an ‘opportunist’ who tried to seduce him. The third time they met, he tried to kiss her because she smelt good. Wait! What is this new development in Jasper Miles? Wasn’t he rumoured to have hatred for women and couldn’t touch women? Why is he always looking out of his window at the small apartment across him just to see the petite girl, then? Why is he trying to covet her by tricking her? The girl said to him one day, ‘‘wait! I am still in high school. I can’t have a boyfriend right now’’ He leaned closer to her and whispered into her ears, '‘is not that you can’t have a boyfriend. Rather, it’s I can only be the one boyfriend that you will have in this life. We are bound together’’ ‘‘Shameless man!’’ the girl said and before she could turn her face away, he held her chin and looked into her eyes. ‘‘Inayah, you can only belong to me in this life and the life to come’’ After her tragic death, Inayah wakes up to find herself back to her 18-year-old self. Back to the beginning where everything started. At 18, she was an ordinary girl living her best life until she met Jasper Miles. The man who made her best friend turn against her. Jasper Miles was rumoured to be ruthless and someone who ‘couldn’t ‘touch’ women because he hated them and had suffered a bad breakup from the past. Waking up to the year her life turned around, Inayah was given a choice. To meet the same man again or to have a new life without that man. But, she decided, she wanted that man and was made to live that life again but with a catch. Now she could see the true colours of everyone. The one she once called her ‘best friend’ became her enemy. The one she once called her ‘enemy’ turned out to be her true friend. Inayah said to herself. ‘‘Now, I must live right this now’’ NB: Cover doesn't belong to me. Credits goes to the owner. Traveling universes with God’s daughter as a system

Onmyo was your average male humanoid, or that’s what everyone thought, but in his own mind he knew he was not like everyone else. People around him clearly felt everything from love to hate. But Onmyo didn’t know why, but he always didn’t feel much of everything. Don’t get the mc wrong, he wasn't some sick psycho, but instead he just felt a toned down enough version of emotions to just not even show it on his face. He also had a version of memory loss where he can barely remember anything. The most he remembers from his childhood even is just random quick snip its of his memory’s. If you were to combine them all it wouldn’t even take a totally of 1 hour to replay all of them unless it’s preictally engraved in his mind he will remember. He also can’t focus for more than 30mins because losing focus. Also, he was lazy on a whole new level. Basically, you could call the mc retarded, but only retarded on certain parts only. The main reason he was called Onmyo was his eyes. That’s because he has two different eye colors and the pupils were black in his left eye and white in his right. (But enough talk about him, let's talk about the main reason.) On Christmas day he killed himself. The main reason was that he just felt why not, literally the mc killed himself on a whim *facepalm*. That’s when *cue the cliché scene* he meets god. But he started to question God, and his motives for reincarnation him for free and managed to impress God so much that God gave him an intelligent female system to join him in his adventure in the new worlds and wishes if they were heaven-defying. Now join Onmyo and his system on his journey to find family, love and also to find something to appease his boredom. ____________________________________________________________ Wow, ok so I think I wrote the synopsis too much. Welp. Anyways this is my first time writing a book and even worse I’m only a freshman so don’t count me to be a good author or even have stable updates. This is more of something for fun and if I manage to get a good amount of people reading this book, I might consider doing daily updates. Oh well enjoy the book. I also would love to improve so please rate and tell me anything I need to improve on. *ALSO CAREFUL I WILL BE ADDING A SHITTON OF CURSE WORDS*
