Rebirth of a queen

Loraine woke up and noticed it was dark outside, thinking she didn't sleep that much but was energized she thought it was weird but brushed it off, she walked down the staircase and noticed the house was deserted, the weird security guy they had wasn't keeping watch.

The house was pitch black and there was no flashlight around, so she had to grope around and use the help of the moonlight to navigate through the house, she walked into the kitchen and opened the cabinets, but it was empty, walked into the storeroom it was also empty, seeing this she felt a sinking feeling in her stomach.

She ran outside, towards the garage, there was no car, due to her panicking she didn't notice the house gate was opened, and so the noises she made attracted a group of zombies, she wasn't armed, and she didn't have powers since she didn't take the vaccine, and the virus released into the air wasn't affecting her.

She got bitten and was mauled apart by the zombies, she felt her consciousness fading, before it faded, she saw her stepsister, her ex-fiancé and parents in the car just outside of the gate, they had used her as a diversion to escape, the weird security guy was also dead, looking at them she felt regret and she also wished she saw the Athena one last time.

Two hours later

The mauled flesh of Loraine that was scattered apart, slowly started creeping towards each other forming a whole body, Loraine who thought she was dead stood up disorientated. She looked at her hands, the fingertips were black, and her skin was fair, her hair was as black as night as was unusually long, if she looked at a mirror, she'd notice her pupils had become red while the white part of her eyes were black and the other purple, she was horrifyingly beautiful.

The zombies around her immediately huddled far away from her, afraid and trying to minimize their presence, it was instinctual. Loraine looked towards them and smirked, raising up her palm towards their direction she closed her palm slowly and the zombies in that direction all combusted.

Looking towards the dead security guy, she felt the urge to touch his head, and she did just that, after touching his head the weird security guy stood up as if being controlled, he turned towards her and bowed.

"Let's go, we have a lot of things to do" Loraine said to her newly formed minion, she knew at the moment what she was and she had memories of things she ought to do so revenge was the last thing she was bothered about at the moment, her step sister would survive since she could manipulate emotions and her parents would too, she could wait to carry out her revenge.

She felt she was forgetting someone, and when she tried to remember she felt like her head was splitting so she pushed it towards the back of her mind.

Athena woke up and walked towards her window, she looked towards the east direction "I hope you make the right decisions, we'll meet soon" She thought.

"Are you alright?" Raven walked up to Athena.

"Yes, I'm fine, just worried about someone"

"I'm sure whoever that is, they'll be fine" he said while patting her head "We should head back to bed, we might have to head out tomorrow" he said, taking her hands and dragging her to the direction of her room.

"Goodnight Raven"

"Night Tia" Raven said, looking at Athena who paused slightly at the nickname given to her, then waved her hand and walked into her room"

Raven smirked as he walked into the room, he shared with the boys "She wasn't bothered about the nickname guys" Little Marcus and the guys who had been awake brainstorming on nicknames for Athena and looking for ideas on how to subtly start calling her that name all cheered.

"I'll call her Nana from now on" Little Marcus fist bumped into the air.

"I haven't come up with one likewise Evans, but we'll figure it out, till then goodnight, guys" Damien called out from his sleeping back while looking enviously at Raven and Evans who shared the bed with Little Marcus.

Meanwhile, in one of the offices belonging to a higher ranking, militant Athena's uncle was sitting on one of the chairs looking at the report he had asked for, he scowled and thought about Athena and her friends had succeeded in fooling him. After yesterday's and today's mission he noticed that they seemed to work to well and it bothered him, because for the mission to work she had to be alone.

He had been sent to the mall on purpose to meet Athena, he was also aware about Marcus being with her as it was all part of the plan, but those boys being with her wasn't part of it, he had to find a way to separate them.

In one of the tents in the base, there was a woman and a man who looked between forty to fifty, discussing a little distance away from them was a teenage girl between twelve to fourteen sleeping, the couples were speaking in hushed whispers.

"We have to look for him, and hand him over and we'll get to live in one of those villas that was what they promised" the woman spoke, she was regretting dropping him off as a decoy to get away, but she had to find him now.

"Do we even know where he's at?"

"Yes, one of the apartment owners has him, apparently they found him on their way here, this is Goodnews for us" the woman had been given a breakdown of Athena and the guy's schedule, so she planned to go over to their apartment when they've left for missions.

A week later.

"You guys, there's been no movement lately, I feel like they're planning something" Damien said while Evans nodded along, agreeing with him.

"We don't know that, and I'd like it if you guys can keep quiet, I'm trying to think" Raven said.

Athena who has been quiet all along suddenly spoke up "Guys we have to leave tonight, I have the map to the southside base, someone threw it at me, and I don't know who" Athena was still baffled by this turn of event, because she had been walking out yesterday and exploring the base looking for loopholes to use when it's time to leave and all of a sudden she felt something hit her head and drop down, she looked down to see a pouch.

The pouch had the map of the base, the location and direction to southside base and a letter which she hadn't touched yet, she gave the pouch to Raven to look at.

Raven took the pouch and the first thing he did was to read the letter, while reading the letter his face contorted into multiple kinds of expression, and he seemed really upset, after reading the letter he flipped the center table and furiously threw the letter on the ground.
