The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 60:

Lyra's POV:

Today was the day.

Since our trip to Dark Skies, the king and queen had had enough time to get things ready for the grand feast.

Since there were going to be three events, we had to cram it all into today's busy schedule.

We had arrived just in time and had gotten dressed for a formal, traditional appearance.

If that makes sense.

Though my mind kept travelling to the events of last night.

I know I did what I had to do to survive but why does everything keep replaying over and over in my head?

We had barley spoken to each other since we woke up and found ourselves tangled to each other.

The moment was really awkward and my face was bright red!

Throughout our ride on our way back, I made sure I tried to pretend last night didn't happen at all.

But whenever our eyes met even if it's by accident, I would look away before he had the chance to smile.

"Milady? Are you alright?" one of the maids assigned on dressing me and handling my hair.

Even with all my begging and pleading, the queen refused to let me dress myself and today was a very special day for me.

"oh, there's nothing" I smiled and forced myself to relax and let them carryon what they were doing.

When they were finished, the let me look in the mirror and I was in awe.

I didn't even look like me.

Though the only difference between my current outfit and what I wear to train was that it was slightly longer with rich materials and gold here and there.

And as for my hair; I couldn't even begin to describe it.

They did it the same way they did for my mother and it was truly beautiful.

There were many pins in the hair that gave it its unique form and stare.

"you look beautiful miss" one of the maids commented with a smile on her face and I couldn't help but blush.

"thank you" I muttered and walked out of the room.

"Lyra; good you're done! It's time to go-" Imogen's voice trailed off when she saw me.

"you look beautiful" she smiled.

"you look just like your mother" that mere comment almost brought me to tears.

"don't cry sweetie; today is a big day for you…for us" mother said at the back of my head and I immediately wished I could hug her.

We walked downstairs together and everyone saw me and told me how beautiful I was.

Their comments left me flustered and my face turned red.

"beautiful doesn't even begin to cover it" I heard Cyrus from behind me and turned to look at him.

He was dressed formally, though not in what the people wear like the rest of us.

He just wore normal clothes while the rest of us dressed like village idiots.

Cyrus' comment above others made me go red the most and I muttered a small thank you and brought my head down.

"anyway…" Rayhan broke the silence.

"mother, father and the triplets are already there; shall we?"

The King's Speech (Translated):

"it is with great pleasure that we are gathered here to celebrate someone who we thought was long gone. Someone who played a great role in our history and world. Someone who we thought we would never see again and was lost for all times! Someone who we had given up hope on seeing. But she has made her way back to us! Elaka, the great Khamatu saved us and made a paradise where we would never be vulnerable to those who want to harm us. She made us independent and our own nation. Sadly, her time in this world was cut short but she had an heir. An offspring that would continue her ways and protect us and our people. May I introduce to you, the last living Khamatu; Lyra!"

Lyra's POV:

Upon hearing my name, I came out from where I was hiding and stood in front of millions of people cheering my name.

Men, women and children,

They all seemed so happy to see me and they sung and clapped and smiled.

There were people of different kinds and more than anything I could have ever imagined!

Before I got here, King Nicolai advised I say a few words to the people before going away.

Though I had no idea how to speak the language…yet, Queen Merah assured me that there would be someone next to me to translate.

I cleared my throat nervously as the noise died down slowly.

"my name is Lyra, last living Khamatu and only child of Elaka! I have found my way here to fulfil my destiny and protect the innocent and fight for justice just like my mother did and my ancestors before me. As the Khamatu, maintaining order is number one on my list. I shall do my best to serve the people of Noie and bring peace!"

And the crowd went wild again, clapping, dancing and singing praises.

It was such a warm welcome and people looked genuinely happy to see me.

Now unto the next event…

...............

I spent most of my afternoon greeting and meeting people who have always adored me.

Most especially children.

They were scared of me at first; hearing how powerful the Khamatu was and how it can be dangerous to upset one.

The cluttered around me, calling my name and telling me how pretty I was.

Seeing them softened my heart.

King Cyrus' POV:

I was entranced by her beauty.

Watching Lyra move around and mingle with her people brought a smile to my face.

In all my years of seeing women in power and royalty, I had never seen them interact with their people with such joy.

The always treated the commoners like they were filth and they couldn't even look at the without disgust being laced on their faces.

But she was different; going as far as to carry the children and hug the adults and elderly.

It took a while before I realized I was smiling for no good reason.

"she would make a great queen one day" Nicolai stood beside me with both arms folded as we observed her and the people.

Lyra really WOULD make a great queen.

"definitely not my queen" I mumbled, distressed by the consideration that we would never be together.

"she will if you keep on pushing. I've noticed she doesn't act like she hates you as much as she did before. Be patient with her; time will be your ally"

I really hoped he meant what he said...
