The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 22:

Nadia's POV:

Everything was happening so fast.

Lyra had begun making plans and giving instructions on what to do, but there was a slight problem.

I didn't want to leave.

There was something here that I couldn't leave behind but I also couldn't bring along with me.

"is anything wrong my love?" Prince-I mean 'Alex' addressed me.

Yes; I know I shouldn't have such feelings for him, he's the prince and a vampire to top it off.

But there has always been this connection between us; he's been so gentle and kind towards me since I became his servant.

Though he still drinks from me, he only does it to survive and he doesn't make it too painful.

But I couldn't keep it from him forever.

"yes" I shamefully admitted.

He was silent before taking my hand and leading towards his bed to have a seat.

"tell me what's wrong; I'm sure it can't be that bad"

If only he knew.

Lying wasn't an option so I'll have to hit him where it hurts and there's no way to soften it.

"my sisters have been planning an escape plan for some time now. We intend to leave by tomorrow night when everyone's asleep. I thought it wouldn't hold out at first but our fourth member agreed to come with us and we're making preparations" I almost broke down into tears.

"why do they want to leave?" he remained calm.

"because...they don't get my kind of treatment from their own masters. Eri is on the verge of dying because of your brother. The king is beginning to obsess over Lyra's blood though she doesn't want to talk about it, the amount of fang marks on her are increasing and the scars won't heal. If they stay here any longer, they both might die and I don't think I can live with that. But I also don't want to leave you"

This might be the hardest choice I'll ever make.

"you should go with them. I don't want you to leave but I don't want to deny you your freedom" Alex sounded so broken.

This was hard for him as well.

"are you sure? I could stay back if you want"

"it would be too dangerous. If anyone finds out you're related to those who escaped, they'll make you tell them where they are by any means necessary"

"but I don't even know where we're going"

"I doubt they'll believe that. And I don't think I can stand the thought of you being tortured. If we want to keep this a secret, we need to be smart"

The feeling of helplessness washed over me and I began shedding tears.

"but don't worry; we'll be together again" Alex wiped the tears on my cheeks before planting a kiss on my lips.

He was right.

I couldn't leave him but I couldn't stay either.

There has to be a way to get both things but no time.

"just...don't forget me" he pulled me in his arms and gave me a hug.

With the amount of time we have left, I don't think I'll go to my room today"

Lyra's POV:

"you have no idea how much I've missed you" the king said between gulps.

It seems like today I wasn't going to be saved.

The king made sure no one disturbed him for the rest of the evening.

Everyone including Lady Hellen.

He was currently drinking from me like the mad man that he was.

Everything was becoming excessive.

We were in the exact position the first time lady Hellen interrupted but this time without any interruptions.

He had restricted my movements and almost my breathing and made it seriously uncomfortable for me.

"please your majesty; release me!" I choked.

"you don't know what you do to me! I crave everything about you" he said between gulps.

He stopped before deeply inhaling me and it made me shiver.

"the very thought of you gets me excited! Now it feels like the world has been so colorless without your sweet blood and scent"

I felt his long tongue lick my neck clean of all blood.

My vision became very hazy and I could barely see.

My legs were beginning to give out on me.

It felt so hard to focus on standing up.

"you've had enough for now. Freshen up and get some rest; I'm not through with you tonight"

At least I could go to my room in peace.

Sluggishly, I approached the door when he suddenly stopped me.

"where are you going? I meant you freshen up and sleep here. You're not leaving my sight tonight"

"but your majesty I-"

"have no choice but to obey my orders or face the consequences" he completed for me and I sighed and walked into his huge bathroom.

King Cyrus' POV:

The obsession I was having over this girl was becoming serious but I couldn't get a grip.

I was drawn to her if she wanted me or not.

I couldn't possibly tell her how I was starting to feel about her.

This was the only way I could be with her.

It seemed too early for me to say how I actually feel about her and how her innocence draws me to her.

But being a good girl that she is, she'll remind me about Hellen and I might end up slapping her.

I sat on my bed after taking my shirt off and ran my fingers through my head.

I had to get this addiction under control or else it won't exactly end well for me and my kingdom.

But how could I keep her with me at all times.

The chance of her surviving the transformation would be very slim and that's a risk I'll never be ready to take.

Either way, the time she's spending with me matters and it should be cherished properly.

I'm in dire need of catharsis!

While she was getting herself refreshed, I had sent for some night clothes only for me to find out not all servants had such and her maid uniform was too heavy.

The only option was for her to be in my robe and it was way too big for her.

I needed to make a few changes with the servants and their attire.

It'll be too cold for them and they could freeze to death.

"since when did you care?" my subconscious self, pointed out.

What I had just said; didn't sound like me at all.

Maybe Lyra was rubbing off on me.

But how possible is that?

No one has ever rubbed off on me before; or is this magic?...

Guess the King has a soft spot after all.

And if you're still reading till this point, thank you so much.
