The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 21:

It's been three days since the lady arrived.

Every now and then, she would barge into the king's room and save me from his terrible feeding sessions.

Whatever she does with him isn't my business as long it keeps a few gallons of blood in me.

But that wasn't too big of a problem.

Eri wasn't with us because of prince Xander.

He hasn't given her any breathing space since the day lady Hellen arrived.

"are you ok? Lyra; you were lost in thought again" Nadia held my shoulder.

"oh it's nothing, I'm just thinking"

We were at our breakfast table waiting for Sam.

I had told him 2 days ago to meet us here if he had made up his mind.

We currently have the whole day to ourselves since we've done our chores and the royals weren't in the palace currently.

"sorry for keeping you" Sam sounded out of breath as he stopped jogging when he was close to us.

"so...we all know the current situation and we need to start planning with these few days that we have left" I spoke in a serious tone of voice.

"Sam are you in or out?"

He rubbed the back of his neck before speaking.

"there's someone here that I can't leave behind. She's small and frail and I don't think she'll survive without me. I don't think I could leave her-"

"we can bring her but that's it; we need to be as small as possible"

I noticed his face lighten up slightly.

Whoever she was, she was really important to him; I'm only shocked that I haven't met her yet.

"so what are we going to do?" Nadia asked getting a bit excited.

"the main problem should be getting horses. The guards are going to be taken care of. We'll also need food and water obviously"

"I can handle the horses" Sam immediately volunteered.

For some odd reason, Nadia looked lost in thought; almost unhappy I would say, like she wasn't excited moments ago.

"N-Nadia is something wrong"

"what? Oh! It's nothing...I'll handle food and water" she gave a weak smile.

"and I'll handle the guards. If everything is successful, this might be our last days locked up in this place"

I could only hope the hooded lady had a plan to do something about the guards...

King Cyrus' POV:

Hellen requested for a picnic and she wasn't taking no for an answer.

All I wanted to do was be in my chamber taking Lyra's elixir.

I was slowly getting addicted to it.

For some odd reason it wasn't only her blood that I wanted.

I began to crave everything about her.

Her innocent face, her smile, how she carried herself and whatnot.

Lyra was really special.

I couldn't stand being away from her.

I have never felt this way towards any woman; not even Hellen.

I do sleep with her every now and then but that's it.

I hold no emotional value for her.

And most of the erections I get is because of Lyra.

Hellen couldn't even turn me on even slightly; she's always irritated me.

But Lyra was my direct opposite and it was attracting me a whole lot.

"Cyrus did you hear what I said?" I snapped out of my daze when I was called upon.

"sorry I was lost in thought"

"you've been like that lately. Are you ok?"

"yes. It's just stress" I pinched the bridge of my nose.

"well when we get back, I could make you forget all about it" she placed her cold hand atop mine.

'Lyra's hands would've been much warmer'

My subconscious mind stated and I couldn't help but agree.

"not tonight. I need some rest" and an opportunity to stay away from her.

I heard her huff before looking out the window of our carriage.

I must be frank; this thing was feeling tight or maybe because I was with her.

I couldn't wait to get back to the castle.

Sam's POV:

Freedom!

At long last we were going to be free!

Though it's not certain we were going to escape though but I still had to give it a shot.

And I would bring her; she won't be alone.

The girls could take care of her and raise her while I can defend all of us.

I was about to tell her the good news when I heard the royals were back and they each demanded for their personal slaves.

That was when I lost all my joy.

I had refused to lay with the Lady a while ago and she wasn't pleased though she didn't react immediately, that fear of the unknown is still there.

They had just come back from a picnic yet she asked for two pitchers of blood and I went and brought it for her.

While she drank, she requested I massage her feet and I did that immediately.

"how did your day go?" the lady asked quite calmly, taking me by surprise.

Normally she wouldn't ask such so why the sudden change?

"it was uneventful, mistress" I answered quietly.

"I can tell you're lying" technically speaking I only spoke half-truth.

"first you refuse me now you lie to me? Someone's breaking some rules today"

The lady swiftly brought me to my feet and held my neck tight almost puncturing it, due to her long nails.

She was honestly choking me.

"I'm not always this nice to slaves but there's something promising about you and I wouldn't want to waste such potential"

Though she was a female vampire, she was still incredibly strong.

"and besides it would be a shame to see the one you love get hurt" her sinister chuckle filled my ears.

"I beg you, mistress please don't harm her; she's all I have left" I managed to say with her hands still on my neck.

"she shall be under my care if we strike an alliance. Or I could kill both of you in a heartbeat. Your choice"

I didn't HAVE ANY CHOICE; it was the only thing reasonable thing I could at this point.

Her grip tightened ever so slightly before releasing me and I fell to my knees while harshly inhaling as much air as I could.

"now I ask again; how was your day? Leave no stone unturned and if you do, you'll most likely to regret it"

I was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Every option seemed wrong and there was no way I could do this without someone getting injured.

I guess I had to do something I was most likely going to regret.

"I'll talk" I said weakly with all hope lost...

Yeah, things don't look so good for Sam.

We can only hope he didn't betray them...or did he?
