AN: Season 2 of Hataraku is confirmed! Damn, I'm pretty excited! I have exams coming up but this is more important! The animation changed though, it kinda reminds me of Arifureta, I hope it ain't as bad. I'm not really all hyped about it since, you know, LN, but still I'm pretty excited!
I wonder why they revived this? Maybe they read my fanfic and due to how awesome it is, they decided to announce season 2 as a gift for me hehe😁😁(yea right🙄)
Anyway here's the chapter!
---------------------------------
"Cultural Festival?"
It was pretty normal day in the Yuragi Inn, the residents of the Inn were peacefully eating their breakfast when this topic was suddenly spoken by Yuuna.
"I ain't interested." Genshiro said as he continue to eat his breakfast, "I mean, going to a festival that isn't dedicated to me or the dragon gods will make me look like I am weaker than the god that the festival is dedicated to."
(AN: as far as I know Japanese Festivals are celebrated to thank or show gratitude to a god, i dunno though)
"A school festival doesn't have any god you know." Said Sagiri. "Its just an event which aim to use the results of everyday learning to heighten motivation."
Genshiro raised an eyebrow in surprise, "Wait...seriously? A festival without the presence of deities is just....weird?"
"Hey, we also held a festival at the founding of the Cities in my Realm." Alex smirked, "Its a festival dedicated to the King of Demons, and not a God. And I'm pretty sure you aren't complaining then, you even enjoyed being surrounded by female dragons."
"Wha-!?" Hibari snapped her eyes to Genshiro in shock and disbelief, "Genshiro-kun is that true!?"
Genshiro just looked at her confused, wondering why did she react like that, "Well, yeah, I mean, who wouldn't?"
"Nng!?"
Emi smirked as she looked at Genshiro, "I'm pretty sure you are blushing like a little boy and couldn't speak a single word without stuttering."
"Emi-san!" Genshiro looked at the former hero in betrayal, "You promised not to say that!"
Emi looked at him with a mock surprise, "Oh? Did I? I'm sorry, I couldn't understand your words due to how much you stutter."
"Waaa!" The dragon god covered his face with his hands as he rolled around the floor in embarrassment, "Please stop! Please stop! My image as a mature and handsome young man will be ruined!"
"Still, a cultural festival huh?" Emi pondered, ignoring the sorry excuse of a dragon god, "When is it?"
"In three days."
Emi nodded, "Well, I can make it." Also, she already signed the papers for her resignation since she was planning on working and be a manager on one of the branches of Alex's cafe.
Rika also did the same.
"So Yuuna," Alex began as he looked at the former earthbound spirit, "What's your class going to do in the festival?"
"Eh? Um, ah,"
Yuuna blushed hearing his question and looked away while twirling her thumbs. Sagiri closed her eyes with her cheeks flushed.
Hibari also blushed as she looked at Genshiro. She was also at the same class Sagiri and Yuuna so...
"Oho~?" Nonko's eyes released a glint as she was now interested. "Now, I'm really interested~"
"I-It's nothing interesting," Sagiri ignored the Oni as she just ate her breakfast, "Y-You guys should pass by other places okay?"
"Interesting," Alex smirked. He couldn't really remember much about the Manga so he was really interested on what's Sagiri's class going to do.
"I'm sorry I couldn't come," Chitose apologizes at Sagiri, Yuuna, and Hibari, "I have something important to do at that time."
"Same," Albert gave an apologetic smile, "I already promised "someone" that we'll go somewhere at that time. I apologize."
Emi narrowed her eyes as she looked at Chitose and Albert in suspicion. But in the end, she didn't say anything, just giving them the benefit of doubt.
'I'll know it later.'
--------------------------------------
"So this is Earth now huh?" A woman with short white hair and red eyes muttered as she observed the towering buildings around her. "It really has changed from that time five thousand years ago."
'Perhaps in another few more centuries this world will advance at the same level as our old world.'
"Sandalphon."
The woman paused as she turned around, there she saw a woman with long silver hair and red eyes wearing a white sundress glaring at her.
The woman, now identified as Sandalphon, one of the ten guardian angels just smirked at the woman who called her name.
"Lailah, so you're still alive." Sandalphon looked around, noticing that there were no longer people or cars around, 'Bounded Field huh?'
Lailah, the mother of the former hero Emilia, just glared at the angel, "What are you doing here? You do know that there could be no more than two Guardian Angels that could go to Earth. Do you want our race to go extinct!?"
Sandalphon just looked at her with a bored look, "Yeah, that's kinda also my question. Why are you staying here? From what I heard, you are acting like a normal nurse and play around with humans."
Lailah's glare lessen as she gave Sandalphon a disdainful look, "Well, at least it beats staying up there, staring into space for hours on end until it drives you insane. I never like heaven, Ignora doesn't have any sense of fashion."
"Whoa~! No making fun of our leader," Sandalphon smirked but she agreed with Lailah, "But yeah, you're kinda right. I mean, who goes to a party in an astronaut suit?"
"Right? Hahaha!" Lailah laughed.
"Ahahaha!" Sandalphon also followed her, but then she realized something and she froze, "Wait, why are we acting buddy-buddy all of sudden?"
Lailah froze, she got carried away that she forgot that the one in front of her is her enemy, "Yeah, you're right. Anyway, you better leave, there are three Sephira here in Japan, and one Half-Sephira, along with the Demon King and his generals."
Sandalphon furrowed her brows before she scoffed, "Half-Sephira I can understand, but why bring up those Demons? They are a failed experiments. There's nothing special about them."
Lailah blinks, how could she say that? Didn't she heard the news about what the Demon King did in the central continent? "....You...aren't you guys paying attention to what's happening in Ente Isla?"
Sandalphon frowned, "Why should we? Humans are pathetic creature who only mess around, and when they are in trouble due to their own action, they are shameless enough to ask us for help. Why would we pay attention to those creatures?"
"Pfft!" Lailah covered put a hand on her mouth to stop herself from laughing out loud. Oh such a poor little bird, she'll regret her lack of information later.
"What the fuck is so funny?" Sandalphon snarled.
"Pfft! Ah, nothing, I'm just thinking that If I wanted to commit suicide I'd climb up your ego and jump down to your IQ, I'm pretty sure I'll die right away."
"Are you calling me stupid?" Sandalphon glared at Lailah, her red eyes glowed in fury.
"Ara~ are you so stupid you have to ask me that? But whatever, I'll answer you anyway, I'm a kind hearted angel after all." Lailah smiled sweetly, "Yes I'm calling you stupid. But don't worry, you aren't the dumbest one in the universe, but you better hope that person doesn't die."
Snap!
"LAILAH!" Sandalphon screamed as her golden colored celestial force bursts out of her body. A pair of wings appeared on her back.
Lailah frowned as she took a step back. 'How could it be possible?! Why is she this strong!?'
Sandalphon smirked seeing Lailah's expression, "Surprised? Let me tell you. It is indeed the truth that Gabriel and Camael are one of the strongest angels. But it was already ten thousand years since then we have already grown strong, while Gabriel has been wandering around the universe searching for you and didn't get much stronger than before, and Camael suffered a mental disorder and always keeps muttering Sataniel's name over and over in his room."
'Shit, I miscalculated.' Lailah cursed, 'Due to always running away, my power also haven't increased that much, I couldn't even beat Gabriel even with Yesod fragment! But these guys have already grown so strong! And I pissed her off! Fuck my mouth!'
"Alright, I'll bring you back to Heaven for Ignora to punish you. Though I'm sure she wouldn't really kill you. After all, you're more useful alive than dead."
With that, Sandalphon moved, instantly appeared behind Lailah with a dagger ready to stab her in the back.
Lailah smirked.
Sandalphon's eyes widened her dagger was stopped an inch from touching Lailah.
"How?"
Lailah looked over her shoulders and stared at her, "Come now little bird. I may be weak, but the one I'm leeching off is super strong you know? I'm not ashamed to ask for a couple of artifacts that will allow to even survive and even enjoy swimming in the sun."
"Tsk." Sandalphon clicked her tongue and retreated, "Looks like I won't be able to take you away."
Lailah shrugs, she wouldn't be able to beat Sandalphon anyway, since she only asked her little goblin for some protection type artifact since she was pretty confident of her strength.
"Leave now Sandalphon, you'll doom our race if you continue to stay here."
Sandalphon scoffed, "I ain't leaving yet. I still need to know where the fuck Gabriel and Camael are. Their life signals suddenly disappeared, so I volunteered myself to investigate."
"They're dead." Said Lailah, 'It must be my little goblin. Damn, though I kinda felt pity for Gabriel, he actually wanted to save our race and wanted Ignora dead. But eh, he's an enemy.'
Sandalphon frowned, but she already expected this, she smirked, "....Well, I guess I'll be staying here for awhile then. I'm kinda curious on who managed to kill someone like Gabriel and Camael."
Lailah frowned, "I'm warning you Sandalphon, you better not do anything drastic that will gain "his" attention, or you wouldn't even know how you died."
Sandalphon smirked, "We'll see, we'll see." With that, her wings disappeared as cracks started to appear on the sky before it shatters, bringing them back to the real world.
"I'll see you around, Lailah." With a smile, Sandalphon disappeared at the crowds.
Lailah frowned, but didn't say anything or tried to pursue her.
'I warned you Sandalphon, because we were friends before the war happened,' Lailah walked away, following a group of people, 'I don't want you to die a meaningless death.'
