Old aunty

The following day Whitney felt sour in her heart. She was not ready for the commitment she had agreed to with her manager. She looked at Gracey and wanted to tell her to remain at home and not go to the party but thinking of how stubborn her sister can be, she swallowed it.

"Remember, don't stay too long at the party. Don't drink. You know our situation," Whitney still warned her.

"Stop acting like an old aunty. I am not a child," Gracy said. She felt that her sister was beginning to act like her mother. Whitney felt uneasy, she wanted to say more but seeing that her sister would not listen, she decided to swallow it. She was scared that her sister would choose to go against her and get into trouble.

"Alright, I know you are all mature and can make decisions for yourself, but Kelly is so young, and Mrs Vivian has a big mouth. We cannot let him stay for too long," Whitney changed her words. She knew Gracey loved their baby brother and might be more obedient because of him.

" it is almost six thirty am. If you continue to lecture me like this, you will be late for work, " Gracey did not want to listen to her lecture anymore.

Whitney also stopped talking and went to take a shower. Her sister is a hand full, and knowing this, she decided to keep quiet and pray that she would be fine. Whitney dressed up and left the house as usual.

Gracey did not listen to anything her sister said. In her heart, she would be thrown into the ring in less than three months. She did not see the point of hiding inside the house.

She might as well use her remaining months of freedom to have fun. "She is just twenty. I wonder why she behaves like an old aunt," Gracey complained as she got up from the bed.

The party was going to start at eleven am, so she was not in a hurry to get ready. She first went to the kitchen to make breakfast. As she was working, Kelly came over to help.

After making breakfast, the two freshened up before they returned to eat.

The old dining table was covered with clothes. Kelly kept looking at Gracey, it seemed he had something to say, but he held back. At first, Gracey ignored but seeing that her brother was only playing with his food, she could not help but ask. "What?" she raises her brows.

"Can you not drop me with Mrs Vivian?" Kelly said. He bit his lips and looked very adorable. It can be seen that he was scared of going over.

"Why?" Gracey frown. She felt it would be too much of a headache to attend a party with her baby brother.

"The order time, she kept saying that you and sister would not return and I would be thrown into foster care. I don't want to go. Many of her friends may even held over. They said that Dad used to act so arrogantly. Now that he is gone, we can only suffer, " Kelly said as tears ran down his cheek

Gracey was surprised, she did not expect those old women who scare a little boy so much. Her brother was only six. Even if his fate was going to be bad, they should at least allow him to enjoy his next few days in peace.

Although she could guess that the woman did not say this directly to her brother, they were so old. How could they treat him as deaf?

Gracey took a deep breath. Apart from the fact that she wanted to have fun, Gracey heard that there was a small club that deals with the distribution of 'good stuff'. She felt that if she got the chance to join them, she might be able to make more money.

Maybe, she just might not have to end up in the ring, but if her little brother followed her, she might miss this opportunity. But she no longer felt comfortable leaving him with Mrs Vivian, who knew what strange things her brother would here this time.

"Eat your food. I will think of something," Gracey said. She had to consider carefully before she made a decision.

Kelly felt much better now that he said this, so he ate his food. After eating, he joined his sister to clean the table and wash the plates. "See, I can be very obedient and would not cause any trouble if you bring me with you," Kelly said when they were done. Gracey could not help but pinch his face. She had been wondering since when her brother turned so obedient to help with the house chore. It turns out he was trying to win some good points.

"I told you, I will think of something," Gracey said. She then left Kelly in the room to call Sandra. "Are you calling to say you can't make it?" Sandra asked the minute she picked up her phone. Although the two were not very close, they could be considered friends.

"Not that, My neighbour suddenly has something to do, and my sister has to go to work. I was wondering if I could come with my baby brother," Gracey asked.

Sandra paused for a while, "let me ask my sister if she would be willing to watch him while you are here," Sandra replied.

"Caro, how would you like to watch my friend's brother later?" Sandra asked.

"as long as she pays a ten, I don't mind," Caro replied.

"If you are willing to pay $10, my sister will watch him.

" I have five, " Gracey said. Her family were short of money, so she had to begin to see if she would get something lower.

" My sister says she is unwilling to go below seven, " Sandra got back to her after asking Caro.

"Alright, thank you," Gracey agreed. It was best to have someone watch Kelly. This way, she would be at peace.

"So, can I go?" Kelly asked as soon as Gracey dropped the call. Gracey turned back to look at her brother's expecting gaze.

She had forgotten to lock the door when she went to make the call. Although her heartache about spending more money, she felt it was worth it. "Sure," she replied.

Her brother was so young, she did not know if she would be able to escape the fate of the ring, so she had to be good to him now that she had the chance.
