Ysabel felt guilty for having to push Kian away. She couldn't risk trusting him but she wished she could. He seemed genuinely concerned about her.
With a heavy sigh, Ysabel peeked from her hiding spot, eyeing the kitchen and waiting for anyone to come out and go in.
In truth, she just remembered that the apple pie was to be made. She hasn't eaten a single spoonful of anything. The pie would suffice.
"Please be there," Ysabel crossed her fingers, hoping she would be able to get at least half if not the full pie.
Now that she was only a few feet away from the kitchen, her stomach remembered to complain as well. Her body felt exhausted with all the dancing, it momentarily malfunctioned.
Ysabel counted to five. When no other movement came from the kitchen, she decided it was time to come out of hiding and attack.
