Chapter 4: Life After Love…

A few days had past. My father was back from the hospital, good as new. My mother told him about what happened, how her reaction to the attack led to her falling out with Gregory. My father seemed mad at her at first but then decided to calm down because he had missed her so much. I hadn't left my room in a week. I used my teleportation- which I was slowly getting the hang of- to take food from the fridge. I couldn't stop thinking about him. I also found out that demi-demons are called cambions so… I kept trying to communicate with him but I guess he wasn't in range and anytime my mother tried to talk to me telepathically, I shut her out.

Days turned into weeks and weeks into months.

Still no word from Gregory.

I decided to move on with my life. I finally got out of my room. My father had grown out his beard again. It was nice to see he had taken Gregory's suggestion to do so and as for my little brother Toby, he was the most excited to see me. Not because he had missed me, no he wanted to show me that his wings have started growing out. I was happy for him. I guess he thought that he was the first amongst the two of us to get their wings but mine had come out about a month ago. Another thing I wish he was here to see.

My parents kept discussing about Gregory's father and sister and how their return could spell the end of the world if Gregory didn't fight his father.

Gregory was nowhere to be found. His mother, Aphrodite, came to the manor in search of her son only to be told that he left the house about three months ago and that we hadn't heard from him since. We all assumed he would go to his mother but we were all mistaken.

His mother was very worried. I didn't know if she was worried about him or about the world because I think he can do more damage to the world than the world can do to him. We assured her that we would let her know if anything came up and she promised to do same if she heard anything about him.

I went back to school a week after Aphrodite's visit. Everyone seemed to miss me. I missed seeing them too.

School was the one place I could forget about all the cambion crap and be myself.

"Hey, Lenette? Have you seen the new boy? He's so cute!" My friend Carly said to me as we entered the cafeteria to have lunch together.

"When did he start?" I asked like I cared.

"Today." She replied with a grin on her face

"He only started today and he's already being named the hottest boy in the school." Carly continued to educate me on the new boy. It made me care all the less.

"Oh my God! Don't look now but he's walking this way. I think he's gonna come sit with us." Carly was out of her mind. She started checking her hair in her little hand mirror and applied a fresh coat of lip stick. I didn't even bother to look up.

"Do you mind if I sat here?" The boy said as he stood there holding his tray.

His voice sounded familiar. Too familiar. I decided to look up and I couldn't believe my eyes.

"Gregory?" I was surprised to see him after such a long time.

"Hey Lenette. It's great to see you again. How've you been?" He asked in that sweet voice of his.

"I've been alright. What are you doing…"

"Erhem…" Carly rudely interrupted me while making a look that says 'aren't you going to introduce me?'

But I didn't have to look at her face. I could read her mind

"Oh, Greg this is my best friend Carly. Carly, this is Gregory." Carly stretched out her hand like she was going for a hand shake when Gregory took her hand and kissed it saying, "It's always a pleasure to meet the beautiful acquaintances of my beloved."

"Gregory! Don't go round saying things like that!" I was flattered but Carly didn't have to know about our personal shit.

"My apologies, but may I ask to see you two in the courtyard right now?" Gregory seemed more refined than our last meeting

We followed Gregory to the courtyard.

"So? Why did you ask to see us Gregory? Did you want us three to do something together?" Carly sounded so dumb

'Wow she's so dumb' Gregory thought and I said out loud, "I know right."

"What do you know?" Carly asked me what I meant by that statement. Just then it occurred to me.

"Carly, get behind me!" I insisted that she got behind me.

"I don't get it. I'm confused do you want to go first?" Carly was oblivious. I know how she felt. I just told her to get behind me again and took out my pen which mother gave me. She told me that whenever I was in trouble I should slide the pen and I'll know what to do.

"Lenette, why are you acting like this?" Gregory asked

"Because you're… not… Gregory!" I was sure that he wasn't. He looked like him, sounded like him but I was 110% sure that he wasn't Gregory.

"Why would you say that?" He asked

"Because I can't read Gregory's mind." Just then I grabbed Carly's arm and ran. I ran so fast Carly couldn't keep up.

"Why are you running dear, it's me can't you tell?" The man following us still insisted he was Gregory but as we got to the school gate a cloaked figure barged through the door, telekinetically pulled my pen out of my hand- it turned into a sword- and sliced off the false Gregory's head in one clean strike.

"Thanks for the help but we didn't ask for it. Who are you anyways?" I was curious to know. I tried reading his mind but he blocked me out.

"It's me Lenette." Gregory said as he pulled the hood off his cloak.

"It really is you!" I said as I tried reading his mind again and he shut me out once more.

I jumped into his arms and hugged him for the longest time. I was over joyed. I hadn't seen him in so long.

"It's so good to see you again Lenette. I see your powers have grown, and even teleportation now, that's cool." Gregory said as he scanned me once again.

"Thank you for watching over her Carly." Gregory thanked her

"It was an honor Your Majesty." Carly said as she bowed he head down. Carly was a demon too. She told me that she had known about her demon powers and about mine long before but it was after we became friends.

"Your mother came to our house. Where have you been? She's been worried sick about you." I made him aware of his mother's plight and worries.

"I've been training and preparing to fight my dad and my sister. I'll have you know, I've gotten a lot stronger now." Gregory explained that he had been with his uncle in 'Limbo' training because that is the only place he can let his full power out.

"Gregory could you let out your aura again? I want to see how strong you've gotten." I enquired.

Just then, I felt a deafening, eerie, heavy presence like someone was about to drop the titanic on me. The feeling shook St. Margret- that was the name of my school- to its foundation. The world felt like a dark place then everything went normal again.

"Wow! That must be like 80% right?" I was impressed.

"Nope. That was my new 10%. I told you that I've been training." Gregory said with a smirk on his face.

I was even more impressed. Gregory seemed proud of his power.

"Okay. Let's get you home." Gregory said as he swept me off my feet.

"You know I can teleport right?" I said cheekily.

"Yeah. I know. I've just always wanted to do this.

Then he let out his wings- and this time they were bigger than before- and took off into the sky with me in his arms. We got home within an instant almost like we teleported home.

"Speed. That's my special gift." He said as we landed in the front yard of the manor. My parents were there waiting for us and they were surprised to see me with Gregory, but I think my mother was more surprised to see how big his wings had gotten.

'He was looking like a true prince of hell' my mother thought to herself knowing very well we could all hear her except for my father.

"You're mother has been worried sick where have you been?" My mother asked him completely ignoring the fact that he was her superior.

"I was with my uncle, Hades, training in the underworld. That's the only place besides hell where I can let my powers go to the max. Now I can only release 10% aura and not cause a major earthquake. I think I'm ready for my father and sister." Gregory was confident.

"Your Majesty there has been a new development. Your father and sister didn't come alone, they came with an army!" My mother dropped a bombshell on him.

"What? How can this be?" Gregory was dumbfounded. He wasn't expecting a fair fight was he? I mean he's fighting the devil for crying out loud.

"Well if they've got an army then we've got to get one too and I know just the person to cash in on a favor from." Gregory said while looking up into the sky

"Get your wings ready because we're heading to New York City or should I say Mount Olympus."

Did he just say Mount Olympus? As in the home of the 'Greek gods'? This is getting crazier by the minute.

"My uncle, Zeus owes me a favor. I stopped one of his rampaging children from obliterating an entire species and kept quiet about it." Gregory told my mother as they walked in to the house to get ready for the trip.

"Your Majesty I know you could get there within a minute but the rest of us aren't as fast as you are." My mother shared her concern with him.

"Fine. We'll take a boring flight to New York." Gregory reluctantly conceded defeat.

"Excellent! I talk to my friend and get us five tickets to New York." My father seemed overjoyed at thought of visiting the Capitol in the capital of the United States.

"Honey I'm sorry but this is dangerous. You're gonna have to stay home and watch over our kids." My mother tried to kill his dream.

"No, no, no! I'm not having any of it! I used to fight demons way before you and I met and got married. Hell that's how we met in the first place. You were sent by Lucifer to kill the most notorious and most badass demon killer in the history of demon killers but you didn't kill him, you married him! So I'm not having any of this bullshit. The kids and I are coming and that's that." My father wasn't joking around he really wanted to go.

Now that I think about it, mum could easily lay waste to dad but he makes all the decisions in the house. Makes you wonder just how good a demon killer my father was.

"I agree with Mr. Gray. I'm not leaving here without him or Lenette or the little master Toby as well." Gregory stood his grounds as prince and made a decision.

"Please, Gregory my boy, call me Gary." My father just gave him the mandate to call him by his first name. That's a good sign.

Sorry for the delay. I was a bit busy with school. Remember to comment.
