The Demon King's Cowardly Vessel

Synopsis: Certain things are not meant to be touched, especially ancient weapons of unknown origin. Meet our protaganist, Juin, a less than average human from Earth; a thin, well-known weakling who was afraid of his own shadow and was basically everyone’s favorite punching bag. An incident in the past made him even more of a wimp than before. One day, while being bullied, he accidentally summoned a demon from another world. And what made it worse was that… He had summoned a Daemon King from another dimension; one who had the emotional maturity of a teenager and the mouth of a sailor. With Juin's fear of basically everything and the arrogant Daemon King who was afraid of nothing, what would the 16-year-old's life be from now onward? With the help, guidance, and insult from the Daemon King, as well as other supernatural beings that kept popping out of nowhere, Juin soon learned that he had to either grow faster or die a horrible death. Along his journey, he met with all sorts of temptations and exciting adventures, as well as finding out that there was more to what he thought he knew about himself. At the end of the day, could the Daemon King find a way to separate himself from his vessel, or are their destinies more interlinked than they thought? xxx Note from author: Except for first chapter, which is a prologue and set in another dimension, the rest of volume one would focus mostly on Earth. The first volume would focus Lucifer and Juin's developments, especially the latter's development both in skills and character. It might seem a little slow pace at first, but that's because I'm trying to build a piece everything up one by one, giving you a better immersion as you journey through the Demon King's Cowardly vessel. Honestly, I would love to hear your opinions on the development of the characters and the world. Goat in human's skin

"Argh!" he cried out when he felt the pain of being nearly quartered. "Stop, please!"

"Low pain tolerance," the young man growled unhappily. "There's much to be done if I want him to be my true vessel."

He then turned around and snapped his fingers, thus releasing Juin from the invisible clutches.

"Argh!" Juin yelled before hitting the ground. "Oof!" he cried out as the wind was knocked out of him. As he rubbed his chest, he wondered why this dream was so much more painful than before. He was the king of his dreams prior to this, but now…

Juin glared at the young man with his back facing him and wondered why it seemed like the young man had taken the throne from him.

If his heart could break, Juin's heart would be broken a thousand times by now. He narrowed his eyes as he tried to will the young man to disappear.

"How could this soul be compatible with mine?" the young man mumbled as he tapped his foot impatiently. He then turned to glare at Juin, who upon meeting his eyes, immediately crawled a few meters away from him. "Who are you really? There's no way a body with such a weak soul could summon me…" the young man asked in a suspicious tone.

For real, he was the demon king, the one that was revered and feared by millions! How could a weakling summon him?!

"Summon?" Juin blinked. He then remembered everything that happened in the museum room. "Y-you…" he stuttered as he pointed at the young man. He realized what was going on now. He was being confronted by the goat devil!!!

There was a wolf in sheep's skin, and this was a goat in human's skin!

The young man grinned, and a red mist suddenly appeared from around him, making his grin even scarier looking than earlier, especially when his eyes glowed as well. The mist slowly formed a silhouette of a two-horned beast, becoming bigger and bigger.

"Now…" The young man looked at Juin, who had fallen unconscious and was now frothing on the mouth, and he could not help but curse loudly. "F*cking useless human! I merely teased him a little, and he fainted?!"

The red mist disappeared, and the young man made a picking-up action with a hand before turning that hand over and made a "come here" action, upon which Juin's body floated over to him. He then spun Juin's unconscious body around and around. "I seriously can't see why. Is the world playing a trick on me because I'm too handsome and strong?"

...

"Juin!"

Juin suddenly opened his eyes and lurched over, vomiting all over his roommate's shirt.

"Urgh! Come on!" His roommate, 11-year-old Wesley, groaned in disgust and yelled, "Mrs. Martin, Juin's sick again!"

The sound of shoes hitting the wooden floor could be heard before Juin felt a warm hand patting his back.

"Juin, are you alright? Should I call for a doctor?" Mrs. Martin asked worriedly as she patted Juin's back gently. "You look extremely pale…"

Juin shook his head weakly as he lay back on his bed. "Just a bad dream…"

"A dream that can make you sick?" Mrs. Martin said as she reached out to touch his forehead. "No fever…"

"It's a very… weird dream," Juin mumbled. He then looked at the floor before looking at Mrs. Martin. "Sorry about that."

"Don't worry about it. I'll clean it," Mrs. Martin said. "Wesley is using the bathroom now, cause of…" She tilted her head toward the floor. "You can take his slot later. Rest for now, and if you don't feel well later, let me know. I'll call the school for you."

Juin nodded. He then closed his eyes as he tried to think of what he dreamed earlier. Even though he could usually remember what he dreamed about, especially if he was in a lucid dream state, but today, he remembered them even clearer. That young man's face was in his man. His features, every little part of him… Every…

"Urgh! Now I can't get the image out of my head," Juin groaned inwardly when he thought about the young man's junk that was dangled in front of him earlier. He could hear a sloshing sound before something wet hit the floor.

When he opened his eyes, he could see Mrs. Martin moping the floor. "I'm sorry…" he mumbled again, feeling bad for the poor woman who had to work so hard to take care of them.

"It's fine…" Mrs. Martin said. She looked toward the door before saying, "I think Wesley is done. If you're feeling better, then go shower before the next kid's turn. I have made breakfast. If you don't hurry, Wesley is going to take your bacon as well."

Juin smiled gently before pulling himself out of the bed. He felt somewhat weak, as if someone had been using his body as a ball and thrown him around.

"That's just a dream, right?" Juin thought to himself as he took a clean towel and headed toward the bathroom, passing by a very annoyed Wesley. "Sorry, kid," Juin said to the boy.

"I'm almost taller than you!" Wesley protested as he stormed back into the room.

Juin sighed.

As they were waiting for the bus, Juin asked Wesley, "Are you still angry?"

"Why don't you let me puke on your favorite shirt and see if you'd still be angry?" Wesley replied as he folded his arms angrily. "That's a limited edition shirt! I only had it for a year!"

Juin felt bad. He knew that Wesley used his Christmas wish last year to get that shirt. "I'll get another one for you."

"As if you've got the money," Wesley scoffed. All of them got the same amount of birthday money and allowances, so he knew that Juin was as poor as him. "Why were you screaming anyway?"

"I was?" Juin asked with a frown.

"Well, yeah, more than usual too… Usually, you would be screaming without noises, like this…" Wesley then pretended to scream without making any noise, although he screamed in a more exaggerated manner by flailing his arms around like a maniac. "But earlier, you were whimpering, and you kept shaking your head…" He then shook his head like a maniac to demonstrate what he was talking about. When he stopped, he had to hold the sides of his head as he felt a little dizzy. "What were you dreaming about?"

Juin thought about it for a while before answering, "A weird man."

"Weird man? What weird man."

"I don't know…" Juin answered honestly. How should he describe that weird man in his dream?

Wesley frowned and looked at Juin. After a moment of hesitation, he said, "You know… If someone touches you without your permission, you need to tell someone."

Juin blinked. When he realized what Wesley meant, he smiled uneasily and said, "It's nothing like that."

"There's nothing to be ashamed of. I mean, you look like a girl and all, so I wouldn't be surprised if someone attacked you," Wesley said with a serious expression.

Juin nearly fell off his seat. "I don't look like a girl!"

"You're 16, and you're not much taller than me. And your voice is still sharp… Put on a wig on you and no one would guess you're not a girl," Wesley said with a smirk.

Juin frowned. "I don't look like a girl!"

It was bad enough that he was called a weakling, a coward, and an idiot all the time, but now, he had to be called a girl?! There was no way he would take it sitting down.

"You do look like a girl."

"Shut up!" Juin snapped at Wesley, who was looking at the cars passing by. Juin had enough of being teased at school, and he did not want to have another name tagged on him.

"What?" Wesley frowned as he stared at Juin, wondering what screw did he lose this time. "I didn't say anything."

Juin stared at him for a few seconds. "What?"

Confused by who said that earlier, he looked around.
