Jamie grabbed the hilt of his sword and pulled it out from the scabbard fixed to his back.
<Equipped [Old Eden Sword - Lvl 5]>
His sword gave off a white glamour too, but not as shiny as Eric's soul sword.
However, Eric was quite shocked when he saw him holding this sword. "Jamie… where did you get that?"
Jamie stared at his face as he saw the change of expression in Eric's face. That face didn't seem like he was thinking of him as a noob.
"Umm… this? This is simply a sword I picked up from a cave… why?"
"The aura it's giving off! That feels like a sword that has slain a couple hundred monsters… keep it with you, brother." Eric said, smiling at him. 'Hmmm… this guy, he must've been someone on another level. Sadly, he had lost his memories along with his level progression. Only if he still had his progress… would have been wonderful to make company of him.'
With the swords drawn and their guard up, the two men followed the old guy to the place where he kept his sheep. It was a small field, about 15 minutes away from the farmer's house.
"Here we are, boys. From here onwards, it's all you."
The old man didn't even give them a lantern because the Shadow Wolves may not approach them with the lantern's light. So, Eric and Jamie were now all alone.
"Goddamn," Jamie said, turning his head and gazing all around. "When do these shadow wolves usually arrive? And what's the time now?"
Eric was making himself comfortable under a large tree, slowly shoving away the leaves fallen under the tree to keep his butt from getting bitten by poisonous bugs.
"Shadow wolves? Mate… we arrived a lil too early, but, we can expect the wolves around midnight… and don't say they are 'shadow wolves' as if you know for sure," the Vampire said. "And… get some sleep man, it's 10 pm. The wolves will definitely take two or three hours to come to this place again… so, you might not wanna be all drowsy while attacking them."
Eric laid down near the root of the tree and closed his eyes.
Jamie sat down with his back against a tree too. A cold chilling breeze blew by and he breathed in the night air. He thought about his past for a minute and just noticed that he was calling 'yesterday' the past.
He did miss that apartment of his, but definitely, this world was better. He could go on adventures as a job. He slowly gazed at the moon as he was ready to close his eyes. It was a full moon. A moon so bright, he felt so soothing from his heart, so warm.
He calmly breathed, and that breathing wasn't normal, it felt like he was a lion or something.
However, he overlooked that fact and kept looking at the night sky.
<Full Moon Sacrifice: Demon Thirst had been activated!>
He blinked upon seeing this.
However, he was too drowsy to read the description that appeared in his retina. His head thumped on the tree and he fell to sleep.

Jamie didn't know how many hours he was asleep, but suddenly, a sudden sense of fear that came to him shook him awake. He was getting goosebumps. He opened his eyes and breathed calmly, silently, and slowly.
He turned his head and saw Eric, who was already focusing on something. He had awoken to the same sensation, Jamie could tell.
Eric turned to Jamie and placed a finger on his lips, gesturing to him to 'keep it silent.'
Jamie already knew that somehow, he was entirely calm and he wasn't going to make a sound. He closed his eyes, and from behind him, he felt a strange warmth.
Well not entirely a warmth, more like a cold chilling feeling. He soon figured out what was happening. He never played an 'inhuman' class before in a VRMMORPG, but he did know the powers the other classes had.
'Aura…' he thought.
"Pssst…" Eric made a sound to get his attention back to him, very quietly.
Jamie gazed at him and grabbed the sword which was lying down next to him. Then, Eric nodded and made weird gestures with his eyes. Jamie was pretty sure what he was telling him. 'Keep your damn attention if you don't want to die.'
Jamie gave him a thumbs up.
Whatever it was behind those trees and that darkness, it was coming closer.
Jamie turned around and slowly peeked at the square of goats. The whole objective was to protect the goats, so he had to keep an eye on those wolves if he wanted that money.
However, he saw something that he did not expect to see! He could see the creatures already, in the dark! Of course…
<Night Vision activated!>
He could see a couple of wolves coming toward the goats, and… none of them had a white aura. They had a very intense purple aura arising from their dark shapes. 'Shit… these are shadow wolves!'
Suddenly, Eric appeared behind him in a second. He was a vampire, after all, his speed was as expected from a Vampire.
"Well fuck us… these are shadow wolves," Eric whispered near his ear. Jamie didn't turn, his eyes were fixed on the wolves, counting their numbers.
"More than 10 for sure," Jamie whispered back. "Don't they have any weaknesses?"
Eric placed his hand on Jamie's shoulder and said, "Nothing special for now man. Though we do have one weakness right here."
"Huh? What is that?"
"You and me, brother."
