Chapter 12: Keep Believing, For It is all You Have

Elanor was given a day off in preparation for a large battle that was happening, one that wasn’t being led by Azzoth.

It was surprising. For almost an entire month Elanor had been working in the infirmary of the castle, treating demons, to the point she was waking up before Leylin came to get her, falling into the routine of it all.

It was a little terrifying how natural it was becoming. Most shocking of all was that the patients were starting to get a better temperament—or maybe they were just starting to get used to her.

There were only a few who tried to pick fights now, but the ones that did were yelled at by other patients for distracting her from her work and often told them to leave her alone so she could heal their buddy.

They didn’t say it in those words since what they actually said was quite vulgar, but nonetheless they weren’t actually cursing her name or existence and were just huffy about her being human. A huge improvement from what it had been.
