The beginning.

There was a god once who swore that humans were nothing and only polluted the meaning of existence. This particular god was not alone, another omnipotent one expounded that humans are trash that are the result of a bad creation. 

Several gods sided with them, so they had to decide whether to destroy or preserve the human race. 

This decision was to be made with a coin toss, heads meant destruction.

The god who tossed the coin was on the side of the humans, so the coin he tossed never fell back into his palm.

Angered, they were on the verge of destroying the universe, when the God of gods, the one true God, Morana, appeared.

Her might was not on either side, so no decision was made.

At least, all the gods thought it, but that coin, after billions of years of travel, had crashed to the human planet.

The coin had the power of the god who last held it, who was none other than Rahtah, idolized by other beings of the universe as the God of dreams.

Once found, the coin was placed in the worst possible place. It was picked up by a nun who took it to an orphanage, but the horror that followed changed humanity forever.

Even after all these years, the divine wager was still active, and when the coin was found, it showed heads.

The argument is settled, the human race deserves destruction.

The childrens who were sleeping that night were later dubbed the seven deadly sins. Power of the God of dreams combined with destruction, gained the ability to turn the dreams of the seven children into nightmares and create all the monsters that appeared in them.

So the destruction of humanity began with giants, trolls, elves, ghosts and all the monsters that appeared in the children's nightmares.

For the first time, the gods felt fear, since the decision was invalidated by Morana when the coin disappeared, yet now without her consent, human fate was decided.

Morana had no choice, but to make another decision.

"The destruction can no longer be stopped, so either we take responsibility and help the humans or their existence will be wiped out forever."

The coin was tossed by a neutral being a servant of gods and it showed tails. Morana sent the coin to the humans and it became known as the Coin of Redemption, for it granted godlike powers.

This particular power came to be called the divine mana, which was used to control and direct the four major elements, water, fire, earth and air.

As they became more and more familiar with the divine mana, their knowledge expanded and became more and more diversified and Queen Adelheid von Hendirm astonished even the gods with her abilities.

Queen Adelheid used the four elements to create spells and with them the other elements of light and darkness. Her vast knowledge created powers that completely changed the balance of power and Adelheid von Hendrim became the Holy Mother of magic.

Armed with this new power, the Holy Magics and the Knights of Adelheid were formed, embracing all mana wielding people of the planet, regardless of gender or origin.

Battles were fierce, but the changed balance of power swept away the demons. After thirty years of constant battle, the demons were completely wiped out and the Grim Reaper, feared as a demon king, was sealed in the coin with a spell that cost Queen Adelheid von Hendrim her life.

All this happened fifty years ago, since then the countries have been rebuilt, and even made alliances with the remaining sentient beings who were hiding, which were the elves and dwarves.
