(Just Reached 100 chapter on P@treon)
Returning to the Gryffindor common room from the library, Albert found that his three roommates had disappeared somewhere.
Pushing open the door to the dormitory, he confirmed that there was no one inside. It was a good thing because no one would disturb him while he wrote his letters.
Albert picked up his wand, tapped the cabinet, and unlocked it to retrieve a box. He continued writing the letter to his family.
After finishing the letter, Albert used a duplication spell to make a copy of the parchment and also duplicated the photos he had taken.
One copy was meant for his parents, and the other was for his grandfather, Luke. Even though he had distanced himself from the magical world, Albert knew that his grandfather would surely want to see the legendary Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
After all, it had been a childhood dream and a regret.
As for the opening and closing of the two letters, Albert naturally needed to write them separately.
Once he finished, Albert placed the letters into separate hard paper boxes conjured with transfiguration. He also separated the gifts he had purchased from Hogsmeade and placed them inside.
Of course, he couldn't forget the signature magical drinks of the wizarding world, pumpkin juice, and butterbeer.
After packaging everything, Albert realized that the package he was sending home was quite large. He started to worry whether his small owl could handle the weight and safely deliver the package to its destination.
"It seems I'll have to borrow one of the school's owls," Albert murmured. He picked up a nearby quill and wrote his name, the sender's name, and the address on the package.
Then, he stacked the two packages together and held them in his arms. As he left the dormitory, he made sure to close the door behind him.
Carrying the packages, Albert attracted the attention of others as he passed through the common room.
However, he paid no mind to the occasional curious glances from others as he made his way up through the castle, finally reaching the Astronomy Tower. The owlery was located at the very top of the tower.
Luckily, having practiced karate and being physically active, Albert's fitness was not as bad as in his previous life. Otherwise, climbing up and down with the packages would have exhausted him.
As Albert ascended the outer stairs, he heard hurried footsteps behind him. He immediately moved to the side, allowing a bulky figure to climb past him. It seemed like the person was also rushing to send something and nearly collided with Albert.
"Is it really that urgent?" Albert raised his head and murmured as he watched the person's back.
After a short while, Albert saw the person again. He couldn't fathom what had happened, but it appeared that the person had stumbled and now had straw and owl droppings stuck to their robes.
As the person passed by Albert with a scowling face, a distinct smell of bird droppings wafted from them.
The owlery was a circular stone room with empty windows, and being located at a high altitude, the air inside was relatively fresh.
However, Albert had no intention of entering because the owlery floor was covered in straw, owl droppings, and mouse bones. It wouldn't be fun to slip on bird droppings and fall on the ground in this place.
The clumsy unlucky fellow from earlier served as a perfect cautionary tale.
Albert stood at the doorway, looking up, and noticed that the owlery was filled with hundreds of owls of various species. Among the numerous owls, he couldn't possibly find Shira.
"Shira," Albert called softly, and his voice seemed to irritate some of the owls. However, this method proved effective as Shira noticed Albert's arrival and flew toward him.
"This is a package for Grandfather Luke. If there's a reply, remember to bring it back," Albert handed the package for his grandfather to Shira. Shira let out a few gentle hoots as if to assure him. Then, the owl grabbed the rope attached to the package with its talons, spread its wings, and disappeared into the sky, carrying the slightly smaller package.
After Shira flew away, Albert looked at the owlery once again. He still needed one or two more robust owls to send out the remaining package.
The school's owls were available for students to borrow.
However, Albert couldn't determine which owl belonged to the school, so he took a direct approach, saying, "I have another large package to send. Is anyone willing to help me?"
As soon as he finished speaking, a sturdy great gray owl landed in front of Albert, evidently willing to take on the task.
"Thank you. This is my token of appreciation. I hope you'll like it," Albert took out some owl treats from his pocket, placed them in his open palm, and extended it to the great gray owl. It seemed satisfied with Albert's reward and swiftly devoured the owl treats before grabbing the larger package remaining. With its wings spread wide, it flew away.
"They truly are remarkable creatures with human-like qualities," Albert whispered in awe as he watched the owl disappear into the distance. He turned away from the owlery; he had no intention of staying in a place filled with straw and owl droppings.
As Albert prepared to head to the castle's Great Hall, he unintentionally spotted Fred, George, and Lee Jordan, who had been chased out of the Forbidden Forest by Hagrid. His lips twitched at the sight of the three troublemakers. They were quite audacious, sneaking into the Forbidden Forest, only to be caught by Hagrid.
Albert walked in the direction of the three individuals and happened to hear Hagrid reprimanding them, warning that if they tried sneaking into the forest again, he would inform Professor McGonagall and have all three of them confined.
"Afternoon, Hagrid!" Albert greeted Hagrid with a smile, then casually asked, "What's going on with them?"
"It's you, eh? These three mischievous lads have some nerve. They haven't been at the school for long, yet they dare to sneak into the forest, not caring if some dangerous beast snatches them away!" Hagrid glared at Fred, George, and Lee Jordan, holding a dried tree branch in his hand. "I know I can't control you lot, but McGonagall..."
"Hagrid, what's that creature in your hair?" Albert cleverly interrupted Hagrid's words, pointing to some strange creatures on Hagrid's head and shoulders. They seemed to be made up of bark and small twigs.
"What? Oh, you mean these?" Hagrid's attention was successfully diverted as he looked at the peculiar creatures. "They're called Bowtruckles. These two are injured, and I need to bandage their wounds."
"Hagrid, can I watch how you bandage the Bowtruckles?" Albert asked while raising his hand, gesturing to the three individuals, implying that they were apologizing.
"Hagrid, we know we messed up," Fred quickly spoke up. "We also want to see how you bandage those little creatures."
George and Lee Jordan nodded repeatedly, wearing expressions that said, "We know we messed up."
"Consider it a one-time thing. Follow me then!" Hagrid didn't refuse and invited Albert and the others into his hut.
