Hao Xuan could have sworn up and down the city that he never saw anything, which wouldn't have made a difference to her. But seeing that he physically could not was an entirely different matter.
Ji Yan stared into his eyes for what felt like an eternity before uncertainly whispering, "You...were blind?"
"Not blind," he corrected her, "Just a little- let's say, 'visually challenged' for a while. It's taking longer than I expected to heal."
Her eyes narrowed and all of a sudden she swung at him again but this time he was prepared enough to catch her hand.
"LIAR!" she screamed.
Hao Xuan tightened his fist in irritation and through gritted teeth gave one last warning.
"The details escape me but I can still perceive rough shapes and figures- especially fast-moving ones like that! You swing at me one more time and I'm throwing you out buck-naked. See how long your 'honour' lasts moving through the city like that."
