War at home.

Amber turned back to the person who had just spoken. A slender lady with a little 'I-don't-give-a-fuck' attitude was behind her.

"What?" Amber asked.

The lady shrugged. "I'm just saying that you dunno him. Let's talk later, right now, go meet him."

"Wait, what's your name? Are you also a staff here?" Amber asked.

"I'm a contract hired staff. I haven't been retained, but yea you'll still see my face around. I'm Tania."

"Amber. I'm actually–"

"Mr. Hulls P.A." replied Tania. "You're a big deal now. Don't ever give in to Kira and her minions. Stand tall and you'll do just fine."

"Thanks, Tania." Amber smiled, then hurried to the elevator to meet Ajax. "Hmm, it's nice having someone nice around. Maybe I'll end up liking this place after all." she said to herself.

The next few hours were scenes with the police taking Mr. Whales away and Ajax huddling off reporters. Towards the end of the day, Kira and her minions were waiting for Amber's fate.

"Well well well, I guess this is the end for you." Kira said to Amber once they were alone.

"I have no intentions to be your enemy." Amber replied.

Kira laughed out. "You're not even worth being my enemy. Too bad there isn't time for me to show you exactly what I mean to this company."

"If you'll excuse me now." Amber said and was about to walk away when Kira stood in front of her again.

"I'm not done talking to you, dumb dumb. Around here, I am a boss. And I know well enough to tell you that you'll never belong here. Goodbye to your sorry ass."

"I know better than wasting my time with this one," she thought to herself. She was about to leave now when Ajax appeared in front of them.

Still many feet away from the crowd and no one even dared go near him. "I'd like to have everyone's attention." He said confidently, like the leader he was.

"Okay here's the announcement! You're about to get fired." Kira said in a muffled tone.

"Today, we finally caught a fraudster in this firm. And it was all thanks to a certain someone. Congratulations, miss Amber." Ajax said.

"Wow, he got my name right this time." Amber giggled. There was a roar of applause but she was certain they didn't even mean it.

"What?! How's that possible!" Kira bellowed. How can this brat just come here and become the center of attraction!. Now, she hates Amber more than ever.

"You're now officially my P.A and you're also to be in charge whenever I'm not around. You will respect her the same way you'll respect me. I'm talking to you, miss Akura." Ajax glared at Kira who's face reddened.

"It's Kira, but Akura," Kira muttered under her breath.

"And your new office will be the one beside mine from now on. I need you close to me, but at a distance." Ajax continued and Amber's eyes widened.

"But that's my office sir!" Kira protested. It was a large and well furnished office with brilliant light and also, the view from up there was magnificent!

"Thank you so much sir!" Amber giggled, smiling more because of the look on Kira's face and her minions.

"Hey woman of the day," Amber heard a voice called.

"Tania! Thanks so much for your sweet words back then." Amber had a bug smile on her face. "You owe me a gist about Aj–I mean, Mr. Hulls."

"A gist? No girl, it is a truth. A confession. I'll tell you tonight. Let's hang out, it's my birthday and I don't want to spend it alone." Tania said.

"Oh that would be awesome." Amber said, although now she was starting to feel bad Tania was all alone.

"Don't get me wrong. I'm spending the night at a karaoke club with my brothers. All four of them, and my mom. But I want a friend there and I don't really have a lot of those." she rephrased.

Amber suddenly felt at ease. "Oh that's nice to hear. I have just one friend too, Bianca, but I'm kinda mad at her right now."

"Well I hope you sort your issues. I gotta bounce." Tania said, and they both bid each other goodbyes.

At home, it was hell.

"What is the meaning of this!" Hudson roared the moment Amber walked in. Deep down, he had missed her and couldn't think or act straight at work.

"I'm back. Work was fine, thank you." Amber said and ignored Hudson.

"Amber stop and listen to me when I'm talking to you. I was worried sick. Where did you go to? When will you stop this pretense about working!" Hudson continued.

Amber revealed her ID that had been made for her. "See? I now work here at A&A firm. I'm a full staff."

Hudson roared into laughter. "Okay, you're getting me worried. Why would you fake an ID? Stop this madness at once and just…just stop!"

Amber sighed. "I'm tired, Hudson. I'm going to bed. Don't disturb me."

It rarely happened for Amber to talk back to her husband. She loved and respected him but it was yielding no result. He still cheated on her and treated her bad!

"Stop it. Listen to me, Amber. If you continue this–"

"You will divorce me. I've heard that line before okay? Now, I should really get to bed." she rolled her eyes and walked passed him heading upstairs.

Maya rose up to approach her. "So it was true. You have really snapped and are now spewing nonsense."

Amber frowned at her. "Good evening, sister Maya."

"What exactly is good about this evening? The only reason we allowed a low life woman like you into this household in the first place was because of my brother's pathetic love for you." Maya said.

"I know you never really liked me. But at least you had the decency to pretend when your brother was around." Amber was shocked to see courage come out. She'd never spoken back at Maya before.

"Hey everyone..let us just calm down." Hudson said.

"This is the problem, brother. You have grown too soft to allow this rag speak to you like this. Remember, your family would be nothing if it weren't for us. You world have been suffering if it weren't for us in your life." Maya said.

"So what? You want me to thank you for that? And haven't I done enough of it already? I am literally a slave here. None of you appreciate me or care for me! I do the dishes, make your meal, clean the whole house, run errands for you, and you still treat me like filth!" Amber roared.

"Because you are his wife. That's what you're supposed to do."

"No you always treat me like a slave!"

"Maybe that's what you are. Why are you forgetting this so soon? If it's not for my brother in your life, you would be begging for food and money."

"And now, that's going to change. Because I'm going to earn my own money now. I'm going to be my own woman!" there was already traces of tears in Amber's eyes.

"Too bad this rudeness of yours is still not enough to provide a child." Maya said.

Amber's heart shattered into pieces. "What did you say?"

"You heard me clearly. You married a barren woman, brother, and she still isn't grateful for it. You're useless, rude and to top it all, you can never be a mother. I hate you and I'll never love you. You filth."

Amber sniffed. "I promised myself never to cry because of you ingrates! So you know what, all of you will leave my house before the end of tomorrow! Get out of my life and just…disappear!"
