FINDING CLUES
Samuel and Reece were still determined to crack the case of the black diamond but struggled for the past weeks to find clues and didn't even know where to start.
They then remembered that the archeologist who retrieved the black diamond and took it to the National Museum of Ancient Tradition for safekeeping, where it was stolen by the Outcasts, was still alive.
They planned to locate him quickly before the outcasts did. Dr. Herman Manuel, a professor at the University of Professional Studies, had been reported missing for several weeks and was nowhere to be found.
"Dr. Manuel has been missing for the past three weeks and is nowhere to be found. "He's our only key to finding the bloodline of King Nkrumah," said Samuel. "Could the Outcasts have him by now?" He added, and Reece replied, "I don't think so. I'm sure he's running away from the outcasts. Because according to the intel I received from his past neighbors, they said that the night the diamond was stolen, he packed a few of his belongings and left his home and hasn't returned since." They had to find a way to move out of the office to start searching for Dr. Manuel before it was too late, but they were very well aware that Mr. Norman, who was not a fan of that case, wouldn't allow them to leave the office without a good reason. Their only option was to set out exactly when work closed.
They sat around watching the clock and patiently waited until it was time to close. They set an alarm to alert them when the time was up and fall asleep. Finally, it was 9:00 pm, and work came to an end, the alarm rang to wake them up. "It's time. Let's move out," Reece said to Samuel as they quickly packed their stuff and set out to search for Dr.Manuel Herman.
They carried along a photo of Dr. Manuel with them and began their search. They went to Dr. Manuel's old residence to see if they could gather any clues from there. They began their search by asking his neighbors if they had seen him around or knew where he was but they were all reluctant to tell them because Dr. Manuel had earlier warned them not to give out any information to anyone who came searching for him.
They almost gave up and finally came across a fishmonger who everyone feared will give him away because she has a loose mouth. They asked her, "Madam, good evening. We're special agents from the NIA and are in search of Dr. Herman Manuel. He used to live in this area. Do you have any idea where he is now? " They showed them their NIA IDs to back up their words and identity, to gain her trust, but she was reluctant to tell them, saying, "I'm still not telling you anything."
Samuel, upon hearing this, whispered into Reece's ears saying, "I think she wants money. You know, we get fish using bait." Reece put his hands in his pockets and took out an amount of money and handed it to the fishmonger, which she gladly accepted and said, "I don't know where he lives now, but he comes here sometimes at night and leaves with some papers. I work very late into the night, so I get the chance to see him come and go. "
Hearing this gave them hope of finding Dr.Manel. They gave her their calling cards to call them anytime she saw him, and she agreed and
they left her place back to their various homes.
A new day arose and they both met in front of the office looking so tired from their investigations the previous night, and Samuel suggested that they go get some coffee to drink to keep them active.
