The cunning NPC and the return of the gang leader (part 3)

"That little bitch and her braindead uncle are swimming with gold, and you are charging them coppers?! How the fuck none of my men stabbed you and let you bleed out in a ditch?!"

"..."

Oliver growled, making Medea lean back with a serious expression as he dodged the saliva that the shouting man was unintentionally spitting.

The boy didn't say a word in response and just waited.

"Tell me what that bitch wants, and get the fuck out of my sight."

Just as Medea expected, Oliver scoffed at him and sat back down on his seat of honor.

"Young Miss Ava wants to hire our group to take possession of an item that will be in the warehouses east of the Crownhorn farm exactly a week from today. The item she is interested in is some kind of experimental magic pellet. I did not accept it, and neither did I discuss the payment for such a task."

"You fucking better not, errand brat. Return to the potion-maker's place now. I will call you when I decide whether we will take the job and how much we want for it."

Medea reported earnestly, merely omitting what exact type of magic pellet Ava was interested in, and Oliver scoffed at him and shooed him out, motioning at the thugs by the door to open them.

"Oh, and call for that potion-maker on your way out – I have a word for him too!"

"Of course."

The dark-blond-haired man added mockingly, but the boy wearing dark-blond wig didn't show even the slightest bit of agitation and simply nodded his head and walked out of the room.

He made sure to stomp really loudly so when he was back in the room with the hatch, both the muscular brunette and the copper-haired man were standing next to each other with innocent expressions – although Gerard's face was slightly flushed, and he was doing his best to hide that he was out of breath.

"Mister, Boss is calling for you."

"Al-alright."

Medea pointed at the ceiling, and Gerard gulped down his saliva and nodded before leaving the small room hurriedly.

"Chief, you go back?"

"No, it's okay big sister Nentilear."

The woman asked, reaching down to open the hatch for the boy, but he waved his hand to stop her and shook his head.

"Also, you should not call me that anymore. After all, the Boss is back."

Medea added, leaning back against the wall.

"Nonsense. Chief is chief. This place would be gone without you, so you are the chief. That how things work in tribe. If the previous cowardly chief angry and want his place back, Nentilear will beat him up for you!"

The muscular woman slammed her hand into her ample chest and declared confidently, making the boy smile.

"I'm glad that we're talking now because listen, you definitely can't say that around mister Oliver. Okay? Promise."

Medea let out a worried sigh, leaned forward, making his earrings sway, and looked up at Nentilear's face before asking.

"Chief, not make face like that. You scaring Nentilear..."

And for some reason, even though Medea looked rather charming while doing that, the muscular woman acted very similar to Gerard and shivered before looking away.

"Then promise me that you will not allude to me being chief near Oliver. Also, call me by my name, just in case."

"...ugh... okay... Netilear promises... Medea."

The boy's smile became even more dazzling, and the woman backed off while her exposed arms got covered with goosebumps as she nodded nervously in agreement.

"...Medea...?"

"Yes, big sister Nentilear?"

After a moment of awkward silence, as the boy returned to leaning against a wall, the muscular woman breathed out in relief and talked to him, making the boy look at her with his usual serious expression.

"Little copper man asked me to crush his head between my thighs, but I do not want to kill him. My thighs strong, his head will go pop. I thought little copper man liked me. I like him, so I do not understand why he wants to get killed?"

"..."

Nentilear asked in a troubled voice making Medea straighten his back and look at her in a moment of silence.

"Don't worry about that – it's a matter of speech. At most, he wants you to squeeze his head between your thighs until he finishes or loses consciousness. He doesn't actually want to die."

"Oooohhhh...! It's like men at the bar say that the beer is to die for...!"

Medea explained with an unchanging expression, and Nentilear let out a gasp of understanding as if she found the final missing piece of a puzzle.

"You got the gist of it."

The boy nodded with approval, looked up to the ceiling as if trying to see through it, and peered into the room where Gerard was talking with Oliver.

"Chie... umm.. Medea?"

"Yes?"

Nentilear wasn't done with her question, though, and asked again, this time almost making a mistake but hurriedly correcting herself, to which the boy turned to her again.

"This kingdom different than tribe that Nentilear from. It normal if a woman make confession to man first?"

"Sure."

The muscular woman asked and got instant answers as Medea didn't think about it even for a second.

"Good. I will go hunt a bear and..."

"It's okay to use your words – feats of bravery are great, but there are not that many bears in the neighborhood, so hunting one might take you a while."

Nentilear nodded to herself and muttered out loud, which Medea interrupted with a clarification.

"Oh!"

"Miss Nentilear, could you ope... Boss...! Boss wants me to get you. Didn't you return home?"

As the muscular woman gasped and nodded with a serious expression, the copper-haired potion-maker approached the room calling out o her – but then froze and stared wide-eyed at Medea.

"Mister Oliver wants to be petty, so he would send me home and call me back right after I arrived, so I would have to go back and forth like a scared rat. Let's just wait here a bit to convince him that he is getting his way. Oh, mister, big sister Nentilear has something to tell you."

The boy explained with a serious expression before motioning at the muscular woman with his chin.
