Some Naughty Wolfs

In a forest called the Rotten Grove In the continent of Caro, a wounded and skinny wolf is running away from something. As it jumps from a bush, its sensitive nose picks up the smell of blood. Hungry and exhausted, it walks towards the smell.

Seeing a dead green rabbit in front of a tree. While confuse as to how this landed here, it could not care at the moment. It opens its jaws as it goes to pick the rabbit and run away, but sensing something above it, the wolf looks up. Seeing a bloody human with a horn in his hand falling towards it.

The wolf could only curse its bad luck as the human lands on its spine, the sound of the wolf's spine breaking echoes in the small clearing. The horn that the human is holding penetrates the wolf's head. Killing it in a matter of seconds. As the lifeless body of the wolf lays on the ground, the man, who is now named Mors, gets off its body.

[ 2 fate points have been awarded for killing a Black Wolf]

"ha what a nice kill~"

He said as the adrenaline of hunting this wolf felt almost identical to the one he experiences when fighting in real life. Such is the beauty of VR.

"then again this is not your normal VR, is so life-like. If I had known some games were like this, I would have switched to VR way sooner."

He said to himself, his habit of talking to himself not going away any time soon. He looks at the dead wolf, lying next to his previous prey. Now a wolf is more useful than a rabbit in many ways. He did not know how this game will simulate night, but he is sure that the principle of finding a safe and warm place to rest still applies.

If he gets the fur from the wolf It helps combat the nightly cold. Bending down on one knee he slowly pushes the horn against the wolf's neck. In a rough movement, he makes a large cut, making Mors unhappy. But there is nothing he can do when given such rough tools to work with.

He starts to skin the wolf with great skills, in the war whenever supplies were low, hunting an animal and cutting it becomes a necessity. As such Mors has the skills need it for skinning an animal, in 5 minutes a semi-workable wolf pelt lay in his hands. Thin in some parts and too think in others. Not his best work, but it should work for now, till he gets a real weapon.

"The cheapest weapon in the artifact menu is 100 fate points. So, I need to do a lot of grinding to get it. But I also need fate points for my stats. Ah, choices choi-"

He stops he complains as he turns around and looks at his new enemies. Three Black Wolf, like the one he just kills made themselves known. Strong and healthy unlike the skinny skinless wolf laying in the ground.

"Well well, isn't this a nice surprise? Looks like the monsters in this place can't wait to feed my cultivation. "

Mors said, confusing the three wolves a bit, they have never seen such a weird human-like him before. The central wolf shows off a smug look on its face as it points to Mors with its head. Almost mocking Mors for his low cultivation level, they at least were Rank 2 Mortal.

Adding to the fact that they outnumber him, they think of him as nothing more than weak prey. Like the wolf laying on his feet. Mors, of course, notice the difference in Rank between himself and the wolves, but it's only one rank, and these bastards already acting like young masters?

He could not help but shake his head. He has fought countless Black Wolfs before, even with a higher difference in Rank, and still won. That how great his knowledge of the game and his own skills are. There is nothing to be afraid of.

"Stop acting so arrogant stupid puppy, come at me with all you got"

His obvious taunt work as one of the wolf rushes toward Mors with great speed. It was at this movement that Mors realize something, isn't that a bit too fast? That is all he could think before the wolf appear in front of his face.

Its large jaws open and aim at Mor's neck. Mors takes a single step back, making the wolf miss before he does a full turn. The dance has just started. The horn in his hand becomes a deadly weapon as a large wound appears on the wolf's side.

The wolf feeling pain takes a jump back to be with its friends. The arrogance in their ugly faces became serious. But Mors was the same, reminded once again that the computer game and this VR game while the same, are different in practice. He learns a Heaven skill because he memorizes the lore of it and practices it. The once meta combat range of 2+- ranks does not apply here.

"haha, it's like learning the game all over again. Maybe differences in ranks matter now more than ever, oh can you imagine that! The meta changing. Now that, makes me very happy"

The wolves ignored the weird human as they start to circle around him. Mors slowly gets into position as well, not moving an inch as he looks at all of his sides. Having a hunch that they will attack from behind and proven right he was.

As the wounded wolf once reaches Mor's blind spot launches itself towards his neck. But Mors expected this as he twists his back. The wolf mid-air could not control its movement, as Mors supports its body with his arms, he aims his legs at the wolf's jaws. Kicking them as he launches himself into the air, doing some spins, before landing on the ground gracefully. Wolf 1 howling in pain. Its teeth are broken and multiple large wounds have appeared on the inside of its mouth. Fresh red blood painted the grass beneath it.

But before Mors could relax, the other two wolves launch themselves at him. One aiming for his arm and the other for his leg. Of course, he was not skilled enough or had stronger cultivation, so defending against both attacks was impossible. So, he focuses on the most serious one, wolf 2, the one attacking his legs.

He does a clever dodge of the attack, making wolf 2 miss but letting wolf 3 bite his right arm. As blood flows from the newly open wound and pain invaded his brain, Mors grins his teeth together to numb the pain. With wolf 2 now open for attack, Mors spins himself around. Taking wolf 3 with him, hitting wolf 3 sides with the help of a nearby tree.

The wolf barks in pain, letting go of Mor's arm as it lands on the ground, trying to regain its breath. Mors soon completes his spin as the horn in his hand does a slash attack on the wolf 2 sides. Fresh blood hits the ground once again.

But he did not stop there, he needs to cut the enemy's numbers as fast as possible. Mors extends his hand forward, aiming the horn at the wolf's eye and piercing it. But he did not stop there as he push his hand as deep as he could, making the horn reach the soft inner brain of the wolf and damaging It, killing the wolf in seconds.

He pulls his now bloody hand out of the wolf's head as he rolls on the ground. Dodging the attack of wolf 3, leaving Mors no time to think, wolf 1 launches itself towards Mors, its jaws open. Mors clicks its tongue as he transfers the horn from his right hand to his left one.

As the wolf gets closer, he punches the wolf square in its wet snout. Causing unimaginable pain to it, moving his left hand in a sideways motion. He pierces wolf 1 eye, doing the same thing he did to wolf 2. as wolf 1 drops to the ground dead, Mors transfers the horn back to his right hand as he faces the final wolf.

Wolf 3 looks at its dead friends and howls in anger as it rushes toward Mors. Its jaws are wide open as Mors stops it by grabbing the top and bottom parts of the wolf jaw. The wolf's eyes slowly widen as it sees Mors slowly open its jaw with more and more force.

Soon a loud cracking sound echoes in the forest as wolf 3 jaws are left open in a weird way. Pain invades every inch of the wolf's brain, almost making it howl in pain. But not given enough time to do that as a horn pierces its eye and brain, killing it in seconds. Mors wounded and exhausted lays on the ground.
