A successful Experiment

Mors finally arrived at his own plot of land. In front of him lay countless small fields. Because he is doing countless experiments on these fields, some of the plants have not blossomed, while others have. Today especially two of his plots of land that he had been feeding his QI to are fully grown.

One of the plots of land had beautiful roses with a vivid light blue color, sharp thorns coming out of its green stem. From what Mors remembered this flower is called an Aqua Rose, a rose that takes around 8 to 12 weeks to fully grow. But it appears that in just 1 month it has fully blossomed.

This type of flower grows better with larger than average quantities of water and a humid environment, which was why he flooded the field after planting them. The other flower that has grown is a vibrant yellow coloured dandelion, call Sunlight Dandelion. This flower normally takes 9 weeks to grow, but thanks to the QI it was able to grow in only 4 weeks.

Mors looks at these two fields as he came to a natural conclusion.

"Maybe QI helps the plants grow faster, but does the quantity of QI affect their growth speed? I will have to check the other plots. Besides that, with these flowers, I can finally start making tea"

Mors thought this out loud as he started to slowly harvest the flowers, storing them in his storage ring before standing up. A bright smile forms on his face as he looks at his plot of land. In his old life owning land was a dream within a dream due to his condition and the fact lots of arable lands became protected under the world government.

But in this world, he was finally able to acquire his own plot of land and even start farming. But there is no use thinking about the past, he thinks as he leaves his plot of land and starts to walk towards his apartment. Ever since they had got a bigger apartment things had become better.

With more room for both of them, they can do more things without stepping on each other toes. Zhihui recently has started to do more intensive planning for their future actions. Having a whole office to herself to do all this planning in. He too has his own office, but he has not found much use for it so far.

But if this experiment of buff foods bears fruits, then he can see some potential use to the office. Things like recording recipes and his results are all things he can do easier and more comfortably in his new office.

But his thoughts are cut short as he arrives at the front of his apartment. Taking out the keys to the front door and unlocking it he grabs the handle and twists it to open the door, entering the apartment in the process.

Mors goes straight to the kitchen as he takes out the flowers he harvested today as well as prepares some of his equipment. On the marble countertop of the kitchen lay the flowers, a mortar and pestle, a tea kettle, and tea cups. Mors wanted to test out different techniques and see which one will show the most successful results.

The first technique he is going to try is grinding the flowers and then placing the paste in the kettle with hot water, all without using QI. He grabs an aqua rose and cuts off the flowerhead from the stem. He grabs the light blue rose's head and places it on the mortar, grabbing the pestle as he starts to softly grind the flowerhead.

He did this for a few minutes until a nice sticky blue paste was formed. Using some chopsticks, Mors grabs this paste and puts it on the already full hot boiling water kettle. Mors could not help but look at the tea kettle with wide eyes, at the very bottom of the kettle is a red fire spirit crystal. If Mors infuses some of his QI into it the crystal will activate and it will start to heat up the water.

"I guess when you live for such a long time technology naturally develops more, or maybe it's because of all the magical resources that allow them to skip multiple steps in the technology ladder."

Mors talks to himself as he waits for 5 minutes for the tea to finish brewing. He grabs the kettle as he pours himself some hot steaming tea. He looks at the teacup as he grabs it by the handle, the tea itself has a nice light blue color. It reminds him of the sea for some reason. But not wanting to wait any longer, Mors drinks the tea in one go. Not caring about the temperature since it did not affect him that much.

He waited for a few seconds to see if he felt any difference, but he could not. He made a mental note that the Aqua Rose tea without QI was a failure. He then spends the next 15 minutes doing the same procedures for the sunlight dandelion. Only for the yellow-ish tea to turn out to be another failure

With the paste technique coming out as a failure, it was time to do the second technique without QI. This time Mors would boil in the water the whole flower head.

So he places an Aqua Rose head on the kettle and waits for it to finish boiling. As the five minutes came to a close, Mors poured the tea into a teacup. Grabbed the teacup by the handle and brought it closer to his face.

The liquid this time had a deeper blue color to it, but it also have the strong smell of the Aqua Rose coming out of it. The smell was certainly very strong, but Mors did not mind it, in fact, he found it quite pleasant to smell the tea. Like before, in a swift motion he drank the tea, only to sigh in disappointment at the results, it to was a failure.

So he did this again with the sunlight dandelion, only to once again be labeled as a failure. With the QI-less techniques both coming out as failures, it was time to try the same techniques but this time infusing QI in every step of the tea-making process.

"If the QI made it grow faster, maybe it can also give the tea magical properties"

Mors said to himself as he started to do the paste technique first. This time as he grinds the flower he channels his QI through the pastel and mortal. Getting a richer in color and odor paste. As he boils the paste in the kettle he channels his QI into the kettle and the water itself. The 5 minutes mark came to an end and he drank that tea.

As he drank the tea and it settles in his stomach he notices a weird effect. He felt like his QI was recovering faster, but as soon as that feeling came, it also disappear. Mor's eyes widened at the implications of this, he was on the right track. He then spends the next 15 minutes doing the same thing to the dandelion. As he drinks the bright yellow tea, his body became able to handle colder temperatures.

But as soon as the feeling came it also disappear. The smile in Mor's face couldn't stop growing as he started to repeat the flower head technique, this time with QI. The process is much of the same as before, only this time he channeled his QI while the flower was boiling.

As he pours a bright, almost shining blue liquid into his cup, he could not help but feel excited. If this worked, it would really help Mors and Zhihui against future combatants. Even more, if no one else found this technique, he could start selling the teas to other people for some extra cash. Not like he or Zhihui need it, but the extra connections they can gain from selling this would be priceless.

As he drinks the tea, he waits for the effects to take place. While waiting for a system notification he feels the effect from before, the faster replenishment of his QI taking place. But it only lasted for 30 seconds before the feeling went away. No system notification, no sign it ever occurred. A disappointed look spread on Mor's face as he looked at the flowers and his equipment. He was doing it correctly, what could he be missing?

As Mors looked at the flowers, he noticed a clear difference between both techniques. In the paste technique, he used QI while making the paste and boiling it. But in the flower head technique, he only used QI at the boiling part. If he channeled his QI into the flower head for 5 minutes, would that change things?

"Well, there is no point in not trying!"

Mors said to himself as he grabbed another Aqua Rose and cut off its head, placing it in his hand and channeling his QI into it for 5 minutes, before doing the rest of the technique like normal.

As he drinks the tea made from this modified technique he began to feel something strange. His body started to gather QI at a faster rate, the QI he had used was replaced in mere seconds as the system blessed him with notifications.
