Chapter 21 encounter

"he's here". Meredith said as Nicholas stepped in. The board stood in awe of him. Without wasting much time, he walked to the seat prepared for him at the end of the long table. He sat with pride as all eyes were on him. Tiger sat directly beside him. The meeting began.

                Each and everyone at the table were Managers and directors of different sections of the Ross empire. Most of them were stockholders, while investors waited in the next room for Nicholas.

                 Files were opened, drafts were read, new laws were made, new heads were appointed, and every other thing that needed to be talked about was said.

               Nicholas handled everything without complications and it left everyone stunned. But amidst all these things, he thought of her. 

            He had told his people to keep an eye on her and find out her every move. He left Klaus in charge of that and he hadn't reported yet.

            Meredith was proud. She knew that Nicholas was reliable and apart from being very intolerant when it came to handling lazy employees, he was some kind of a mystical genius.

           She knew she made the right decision when she entrusted the empire to him. He had other businesses apart from this empire. He in fact has his own empire but it wasn't really a big deal for him to handle both empires.

             Meredith watched him handle everything as she thought of his father. She knew that marrying a business typhoon was going to create more business typhoons, but this man sitting over there was no business typhoon, he is a business god who held the business world in the tip of his fingers.

            Master of strategies. Nothing slips underneath his nose and that was how she raised him to be.

After a few hours,

              Klaus Alejandro walked in. All eyes were on him.

KLAUS ALEJANDRO - managing director of Ross hotels, ( next in command after Tiger), intimidating as fuck, handsome with style. 

                 He walked in and stood behind Nicholas as he whispered something into his ear. "Zhavia McKay checked out this morning". Nicholas paused. 

Checked out?

Nicholas thought for a while. The board noticed his silence as all eyes were on him.

              Meredith was puzzled. 'What has these two fools said this time?' she thought. She never liked these two and how they were always around Nicholas, never leaving his side.

              "This meeting is adjourned".  Nicholas concluded as he sat back. He was furious. How the hell did she slip under his nose?

Everyone stood up as they picked up some files and left one after the other without hesitation. Meredith still sat as she watched the dismissal of everyone. 

         The woman in black watched the man opposite her at the other end as she asked.   

                     "What was so important that couldn't wait till after the meeting, Nicholas?" She said as she controlled herself, clenching her fist. 

                      "However I chose to run my empire is of no concern to you, Meredith". Nicholas said as he stood up, arranged his suit, and started walking towards the door as Tiger and Klaus followed behind.

Furious Meredith watched him walk away.

'Something must have stirred up this burning range'.  She thought.

but I can't quite put my fingers around it.

The proud woman sat quietly.

"How did this happen?" Nicholas asked furiously as he looked at Klaus. "I fucking asked you to keep an eye on her. 

"She checked out quite early and her assistant made it happen fast". Klaus said as he sounded remorseful.

Nicholas growled silently. "Find her".
