Chapter 9

"Hello Boss" Margret immediately pick up the office line and receives the call.

"Come into my office right away" Liam respond and she gulp and quickly stand up from her office seat, dropping the phone line and she sees Bambam smiling at her, as Bambam prepare to attend to the client sitting in front of her.

Some clients steps into her secretary office to see her too and she immediately direct them to other staffs working on the third floor office to attend to them, as she knows the new boss doesn't like to be kept waiting.

Margret immediately walk towards Liam's office door and she knocks and hear his cold respond, "Come in."

Margret swallows as she open his office door and walk into his exquisite office to see him.

"What took you so long to respond to my call?" Liam question, as he continues typing on his computer, not shifting his gaze away from the monitor screen as his fingers clicks faster to the keyboard.

"Am sorry boss, I arrived late from lunch," Margret replies and he pause what his typing and stare up to her.

"Do you want to be fired?."

"No boss" Margret nervously respond, as she doesn't want to loose her job yet and she fumbles with her fingers as her palms automatically becomes sweaty.

Her job is one of the highest paying job she can get and her work isn't stressful for the huge amount of salary they pay her even as is an individual owned private company, not even a government owned company and yet their pay is relatively high.

"Then don't keep me waiting next time!" Liam warn and he shift his gaze back to saved his project before it finally exiting.

"Come here!" he order, and Margret walk closer to his front-desk.

He stare to her suit and is a bit oversized as he had Instructed but she still looks smart in it.

Margret stare to his face and immediately stare downward nervously as she meet his cold gaze on her.

"Here, take this file and take it to the department responsible for employing of the new staffs. Informs them to get a new secretary too and two more staffs on the third floor.."

"But Sir.. I still love my job and I am diligent in carrying out my task, please forgive me sir" Margret beg and Liam stare to her again.

She's fair and beautiful and he shake his head.

"Am not firing you, nor asking for your replacement but an assistant to assist you in carrying out the task given to you. But if you fail to respond to your call next time and keep me waiting then you will be fired!."

Margret swallows hearing him.

"Now take this file, and like I said, Instruct the Department responsible for the employment of new staffs to email this person to resume and get an assistant to assist you as well and also other records that ain't completed, he should as well get a replacement for all those staffs whom failed to resumed their duties today."

"Okay boss" Margret respond, and pick up the file from his desk and she step backwards and stare to him, waiting for his next instruction as she stare to his handsome cold face.

"You can leave" Liam dismiss her in his usual cold voice and she smile faintly and turn to exit his office.

Margret step out and heave a sigh of relief as her eyes meet with Bambam's staring at her again.

She knows Bambam is also interested in the new boss as Bambam is hot curvy like her, and a Melanin popping black beauty, as she's fair but she's determined to win the CEO first and not give Bambam any chance either.

She breath out heavily and sigh as she walk passes Bambam's open office and walk to the PR responsible for the employment of the new staffs.

She doesn't wish to lose her job as it is one of the most sort after job in the city and their dress code isn't even affecting her either.

She sigh and knock on the person in charge of the employment of new staff door as he's busy talking to a client sitting across to him, in his transparent glass office too.

He stare to her and the person he's talking to stand up to leave while she walk into his office and place the file on his desk in a lit thud.

"Good afternoon Miss Margret," Joel Gregory, a dark skin man greet her first and she respond, "Good afternoon Joel, Boss Instruct you should email this person whom own this CV to resume with us here on Monday and get two other staffs" She informs him.

"Wow, just like that?." Joel ask, as he stare to the file on his desk.

"A female staff" he murmur and Margret remember the CEO additional order.

"Yes, he also inform that you should get a replacement asap for all those that didn't resume work today as there's a hold on the records and also get an assistant secretary for me too."

"An assistant for you, What's so difficult in your job?" Joel ask, as he stare up to her face as she's still standing in his office and she retort, "Don't ask me silly questions Joel. Just do as you're told as that's the Boss's instructions. I almost got fired and I have to leave now so I don't miss his call."

"Okay!" Joel nod and she quickly exit his open office and walk back to her own office to continue with her work as his secretary while Joel stare to file on the table and stare back to his monitor screen displaying.

He check into the list of applicant that has submitted their application letter to their company and he brush thru some of them emails, ticking on some and sending the company's signified email letter of resumption to the applicants that he has ticked out, as a lot of stubborn ladies refused to resumed their works, just because the new CEO stated he didn't needed them dressing seductively hot or wearing overly revealing outfit to work and even banned too much makeup to office.

Joel smirk and as he's about switching off his computer, as he's thru emailing the list he has selected to resume with them on Monday, he spot a new email sent as an application letter and he stare to the applicant name, "Anita Baker" he says, as he click open her email of application.

He reads thru her profile and she's a new bee with no working experience but her results and grade are beautiful as she graduated with a first class from the recent ending convocation party that just ended.

He remember his younger sister also attend the same university as her, that she has just graduated from and yet his younger sister isn't serious as she kept having carryovers.

He slam on his desk a little as he has already sent out all the emails to all the staffs needed to fill in for those that had resigned and quitted and he stare to his display monitor screen again for a while, not wanting to disappoint the beauty with brain that have apply with them, and he knows even though he doesn't approve of her, Other top companies and firms too will, as her results are beautiful.

He sigh almost signing out and leaving her email pending and he remember Margret has informed him to employ an assistant secretary for her as per their new boss's order.

He swallow and stare to his flat screen monitor again.

"Will she like to work with us as a mere assistant secretary to our boss, when she can as well apply her beautiful credentials elsewhere and she will be instantly approve?." He wonders and sigh still contemplating on what to do and he finally sent her an email response to check in with them on Monday and to also see him personally, putting his office desk number and name attached to the email he sent as reply to her email as he knows the department responsible for checking of the new staffs and ushering them to their various working unit won't have the time to give her proper guidance on what her new work is all about.

He decide to see her and to also properly inform her about her new work as she will be working under Margret even though she have more credentials than Margret, Margret still have more working experience than her and he also want to see the beauty with brain that have such a beautiful outstanding results that beats his imagination, that a woman of this modern world that are mostly focus on beauty and cosmetics product will keep her gaze and knowledge focus on becoming a professional workaholic and not backsliding on her education to achieve such beautiful first class result.

He sigh and finally switch off his computer as he's thru sending out all the response letter to their new applicants needed.

He stand up to ease himself and he exit is office, anticipating to see the beauty with brain by Monday.

Margret sit back in her office seat attending to some of the clients that have an appointment with their boss and from her new studies and finding about her boss, He doesn't like to meet with top clients that want to work with them and prefers doing his interview and business discussions online, as she's now in position to speak with any of the new clients that stubbornly comes to their company to speak their new CEO.

Now she understands better why he's requesting for an assistant for her, as she sigh heavily after attending to the last client that come to see the their boss.
