"You're a big brother" I laid down on the soft grass beside my two favorite trees in the world "You probably already know that, don't you, son? You should have given me a hint or something" I accused "Well I am going to bring him home. You'll meet him soon, I promise. Until then, I want you to know that you are daddy's first born and daddy will never ever ever stop loving you. Rememer that my child. Always."
I looked at the other tree standing protectively around my son. I hope she understood me like she always did without me having to say a word. I hope she approved of what I was going to do.

It was midnight by the time I made my way home. The hall lights were shining as bright as the day. I entered knowing very well what awaited me and I wasn't disappointed.
"He's yours" my father said solemnly. It was a statement not a question so I didn't answer.
