In spite of Sophia's plea to Vanessa, to fix whatever problem she had with Alex, Vanessa did her best to avoid Alex all through the rest of day or maybe he also did his best to avoid her because she didn't run into him at all.
Sophia's words bothered Vanessa as she fixed dinner. She couldn't say Sophia didn't have a point. It didn't make sense that she was on bad terms with Alex when she would be moving out of his apartment soon.
Yes, he has made a mistake by kissing her, and she had also made a mistake by letting him and being moved enough by the kiss to be annoyed at his nonchalant explanation. Still, he had apologized. She needed to move on.
She was setting the table when Sophia walked in, "Hey, Van!" Sophia greeted, and Vanessa paused to look at her.
"How did it go?" Vanessa asked as she watched her closely
"It was productive. Where is Alex? Is he back?" Sophia asked, changing the subject quickly.
