Flustered Alex.
Alex tried not to look at Vanessa as he drove out of the residence and towards Sophia's school. From his peripheral vision he could tell Vanessa's suspicious gaze was still on him, so he focused his gaze on the road. He really didn't want to meet those eyes right now.
He had barely escaped that awkward moment when Ben suddenly called his phone, reminding him of a meeting which he was almost running later for. There couldn't have been a more perfect timing for that call, and had Ben been there, he would have given him a hug.
An awkward silence dragged on in the car until Vanessa suddenly spoke up.
"So this project you were talking about, what is it about?" Vanessa asked, peering at Sophia through the sideview mirror.
