Nothing is going to happen." I sat up from the cushion. "As I said, it's just a visit. Besides, I'm not going to the main city."

"I will take care of myself and my kids just fine. You don't have any need to worry about me." I walked over to her and pecked her cheeks. "See you when I return, Paula.

 

If you miss us too much, you know where to find us." I picked up my purse and walked out of the house.

 

"Mummy!" Pete called out the moment I walked to the car.

 

"Did you miss me, loves?" I grinned at my little bundle of joys.

 

Though their hair wasn't as golden as mine, it wasn't as blonde as that of their father.

 

The only feature they took from him was his piercing blue eyes.

 

"Yes, we did." John grinned. "Jammy said you were going to stay in there with Aunt Paula, for a long time." He pouted.

 

"It's a lie, mummy." Jammy frowned at John. "You lie!"

Most times, John acts so maturely for his age that I always wonder who he took after.
