An Incident After Rebirth

Zon's smile was forced, but thankfully the stranger in front of him was naive enough to not notice it.

Once again he took a deep breath ready to tell them the truth but even before he could speak the man interrupted him.

"Are you perhaps the new cook?"

He blinked twice--no-no, multiple times. New cook? This is a good opportunity to conceal his identity in the meantime.

Without any hesitation, he answered, "Yes, yes! I am!" Unsure of how to address the man he did not further add a title so that he won't be suspicious.

The man who he suspects to be a master in Cross Over Hall, the hall where reapers get trained and greet their masters. He was told to follow the master to the Zendi Hall, where all eat.

While passing by different places with a lot of loitering people he lowered his head. He still wasn't sure how many years have passed since his death, but someone could recognize him.

Later on, after a lot of turns and walks, they finally arrived in Zendi Hall. There were only a few people inside, and he assumed it had to do with the bell that rang a while ago. He is still thankful to that bell who saved him but look at him now, labeled to be a new cook.

Ridiculous.

Gladly while he was stranded inside the Zendi Hall he could feel his holy powers going back every second. His body was now half to its original state.

After almost an hour of waiting, the chief cook of the hall's kitchen arrived together with the man who brought him here whom others called 'Master Tan'. Indeed, this Master Tan was new, and he had never met him before. This thought made him all the more anxious and scared of what timeline he was currently in.

The chief cook was wearing white clothes, and he was neatly dressed. Zon had never thought a chief cook would be this neat especially when they deal with cooking every day. He suddenly felt ashamed of his past self who has dirt everywhere.

"I have seen this one lost in the garden near Crowned Blossom Pavilion, he is--

"Humble chief cook greets Grandmaster," the chief cook hurriedly bowed himself with his right hand on his chest.

This action made Zon's eyes widened for the nth time today. 'This chief cook recognized me?' He was panicking again, and he was conflicted on how he should answer this one. Not that he really wanted to conceal himself, but the situation he was in, he cannot just reveal he was the Grandmaster Zon Mei who just died and was reborn. Would anyone believe him?

Should I just laugh and deny it? Or should I answer with the truth?

His thoughts were interrupted when Master Tan laughed. "HAHAHA, chief cook, I know you weren't of an immortal status, but it is quite disappointing for you to wrongly point out that this nobody is a Grandmaster."

It was now the chief cook's turn to have his eyes widened. "That is impossible! His clothes and its pattern speaks of a Grandmaster status."

The counterstatement of the one in white clothes made him look at his own clothes. Ever since he woke up a while ago, he had never looked at his own clothes. He was wearing a lighter color of dandelion with patterns of cherry flowers of Mount Hail.

And this pattern was even in gold! His clothes were already enough to reveal his identity.

Master Tan, "Come to think of it, I never noticed his clothes a while ago--" He gasped after a sudden realization. "Grandmaster? But I have never seen this Grandmaster before?"

How many times has he been in this situation today? He kept on getting anxious and contemplating if he should tell them the truth and made them believe such a rare phenomenon.

This time he could no longer escape, his clothes were evidence. In order to make sure he decided to finally ask what year it was to finally figure it out.

"MASTER TAN!" a young man approached them, it can be seen that this one ran so fast that he was catching his breath.

"Why are you running? Didn't I tell you not to run in Zendi Hall--"

"A gate has opened inside the CrossOver. The masters cannot stop it anymore!"

Master Tan did not mind Zon anymore and rushed outside, he also followed. This is unheard of; a gate cannot open inside Mount Hail because the holy mountain is enough to stop all evil.

The places and paths were still the same as before, so he did not have any trouble locating Cross Over Hall. When he arrived there, it was chaotic. The hall was full of young reapers, and the dark aura from the gate can be felt from outside.

"Stay away! Stay away from the gate!" Master Tan shouted, and so all the young reapers stayed away. "What's wrong?! Have you heard from the elite reapers?!"

One master who is doing their best blocking the gate answered, "The elite reapers are not here as of the moment, but we have sent an emergency signal. Sect Leader will also arrive in a while."

"Damn it! How long is in a while? This has such a strong evil aura and is being erratic, it's resisting the holy powers of Mount Hail. I'm afraid we would be torn into pieces before the Sect Leader arrives."

All the masters were shivering, but they never stopped blocking and did not falter at all. Their students were behind them, and it is their job to protect them with all their might.

Unable to watch any longer, Zon summoned his elemental weapon. "Zord,"

Two daggers appeared in his hands. Zon felt happy, he only called out to Zord, but both appeared, and they were shining as if they were greeting their master after a very long time. His other weapon was called Void.

Both elemental weapons were flickering, and he can feel their excitement and happiness of being called out again.

"Long time no see, my daggers," he said to them. Zord and Void contain different shining lights, one was blue and the other was golden. It was a rare one, after all, it only means he holds two holy weapons.

They were shining so much that it made all the young reapers look at his side. Astonished, everyone widened their eyes and froze.

"What is this light?" someone asked.

"Two lights! Who is this reaper?!"

With all the commotion everyone's attention turned to him and none of them can explain what this magnificent scene was. They have never seen such lights that could blind them if they look closer.

Zon showed a smirk and surged to where the gate was located and made a formation with his two daggers.

His eyes turned blue and yellow, the right with the former and the left eye with the latter. He calmly said. "Close,"
